I've got a Samsung HL-S5087W coming soon and I'm now shopping for home theater components, so I could use some recommendations. I'd like to keep the total home theater purchase to $1200 if possible. I know that limits me somewhat, but I'm not what you'd consider an audiophile anyway. I just want a quality product that functions well and sounds good.
First off, I'm not that hung up on the DVD player. For now I just want something to hold me over until the HD DVD wars are settled and prices come down. I may even opt to keep our current progressive scan DVD, I'm not sure. But because I know it will be replaced probably sooner than later, I don't want to spend too much here.
On to audio. I was looking at the JVC RX-D702 receiver. I've seen some good reviews and I like some of the features, like wireless connectivity to a PC for digital audio playback. Then I thought about Onkyo's SKS-HT240 or 540 speakers. Then again, some of the HTIB offerings, particularly from Onkyo, look pretty good too.
The room isn't that big, but don't get too hung up on that. We'll probably be in a different home with a larger living room two or three years from now anyway. Any thoughts are welcome, and I'll answer any questions I can.

) vs $270. I don't know how the 3 extra drivers on the H500 make a difference.
