Well that was quite a dramatic title to kick off my dedicated HT thread. I will chronicle my experience in this thread in creating my dedicated HT. The key differences between my HT and most are:
-I am going to do it for an insanely small amount of money. Think $3000 give or take $500
-Evertything will be brand new, no refurbs or used gear.
-My room is small at 10 x 12.
-My HT is going to KICK *** and chew bubble gum, and I am all out of gum.
So not only will it be cheap, but watching and listening to it you would never know.
This HT is going in a 10 x 12 den on the lower floor of my new house. So far I have acquired the following:
Speakers ($219): Advent center and a pair of Advent H300 for the front
2 pairs of Advent H100 for the rears to complete the 7.1 system
Seating ($629): A set of 3 coaster Matinee recliners.
Edit: The coaster Matinees went back to the dealer due to creaking and just being plain uncomfortable. They are being replaced by a set of Coaster Showtime recliners in black leather match.
That's it for now but much more to come and photos to follow once I move in the new house in about a month. Next items on the agenda are the subwoofer and receiver to be followed closely by the projector once the Cedia wave hits.
