I've noticed a few members here live in Olathe (5 miles from my house) and wondered just how many of you live in this area? I'll start but feel free to chime in-
South of the Plaza here. Have a 75yo house that previous (orignal) owner built garage into a bedroom with bath and walkin closet. I now use that room as dedicated HT. The walk-in closet is the equipment room. The attic space above allowed me to much of the wiring etc myself. Always learning and trying to improve. Welcome!

Member "I'm Listening" has a Terminator themed HT room in Olathe. Maybe he'll chime in too.
Not for design just curious if you have purchased from them before? I am new to all this home theater stuff; so, I have been searching for boutique style stores like SoundFX, Audioport, etc...
I just want to know where everyone in KC shops other than Best Buy, Circuit City, and Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Just found this thread again and it seems that Olathe is the most central hot spot for HT in the continental states. I've been busy building my HT. When it's done, you KC'ers will be welcome to check it out.
BTW, wburt, add HD and Lowes and you got my list. Wait, I did buy my Mirage Nanostat speakers at Magnolia in Best Buy @ 119th & the 35.

Gary, let me know and I'll be there! I haven't been in the forum lately. My HT dreams have been back burnered again in lieu of medical bills. I will have to continue to live vicariously through guys like you and Darren. ("ImListening")
By the way, I also in Olathe near the Price Chopper.
For anyone in Kansas City, I have a 20% off coupon for the Annual sale at Independence Audio and Video if anyone would like it? For items like Paradigm speakers (which don't go on sale and aren't available on the internet) this is a great deal.
Just PM me and I'll mail it to you....even the stamp is free

Auidoport and Sound FX are good. Add Primus Audio Pleasure to the cool list too. Accent Sound was good last time I was there.

I know the feeling. I got smacked with medical bills pretty hard this year to. Even WITH insurance. Which Price Chopper do you live near? (I'm a mile west of the one near K-7)
I don't live in the KC area (Wichita), but I will second Primus to the list of boutiques. Absolutely wonderful service and a great selection of high-end gear. Accent sound has a lot of the JM Lab line and a bunch of McIntosh gear. Very friendly people there as well. I'm actually headed up that way this week, hope I can talk the wife into letting me stop at one or two.
