Any MAME guys out there..?

I was just curious if any games had been released since, oh, version 89 or whatever that are actually playable and any good.....??

Last time I upgraded they added a bunch of nearly-unplayable polygonal fighters and wound up breaking a ton of the classic games (like every release).

I was just curious if any must-have games had been released in the past dozen or so releases that were worth adding.

Got the MAMECab in the theatre, so it IS on topic :)

no. if you have all of the older titles, you don't really need to get anything else imo. then again i only have a few games: turtles, sunset riders, and all of the metal slugs

Mame is such an amazing gift. If you grew up with many of these arcade games, and then can just have them, exactly as they were back then. WOW.

I play games like:

race driver, marble madness, r-type, paperboy, and many others.

I tried to get a the arcade version of San Francisco Rush. Finally got it, but it ran incredibly slow. I really loved the arcade version of this game. Oh well.

Mame rocks. I've been a fan for many many many years now and have a complete rom set as of version .89

There are many newer roms to get for mame depending on your taste for games.

I've always been a big fan of emulation and have been collecting as such since like 1998. Hell, I'll never even get around to playing all of the games I have from various emulators. :^)

The highest I would go is 85. Not much has changed except for chd games which are not playable in any system. You check mameworld maws to see what games have been added .Hey cohagen can you give me some info on your setup. The picture quality looks amazing!

Hey thanks. Nothing special really though. Panasonic AE900U, 25ft VGA cable from blue jeans I think. Radeon card, can't remember which. Home made screen from one of the do it yourself guides on this forum using black out cloth. USB to Playstation controller adapters is what I use for most Mame game playing. For 1st person shooters I use extension cables for the keyboard and trackball. Trackball works great cuz no mouse pad needed and easy to use on a couch.
