Advent Heritage Owners Thread

This will hopefully become the official thread for Advent Heritage speaker owners to post their setups, room size, speakers and components used and any other thoughts or opinions you would like to share. Post pictures if you like and questions you may have about these speakers. The Advent Heritage speaker line is comprised of the H500 and H400 towers, H300, H200 and H100 bookshelfs and Advent Heritage Center. These are Advent branded speakers made by the German speaker maker, HECO (see the Krypton Series), both of which are owned by Audiovox.

Some ideas for other thoughts you may want to post: What speakers have you owned prior? How would your rate your setup on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being poor, 5 being excellent)?

Here's my setup:

Room size is 14 x 17 x 8

Speakers for 7.1:
Advent H500 (front L/R)
Advent Heritage Center
Advent H200 (surround sides)
Advent H100 (surround back)
SVS PB10-NSD subwoofer

Components:
Onkyo HT-R530 receiver(from the Onkyo S780 HTIB)
Sony DVD progressive scan DVD player
JVC 27" CRT for casual movie/TV/gaming
Panasonic AE900u projected on a 76" Infocus matte white screen(for in home theater)
XBOX 360 for HD gaming

Calibrated with Avia DVD and radioshack digital SPL meter.

My previous systems were the Onkyo HTIB S760(2003) and S780 that I "upgraded" to January 2006. These systems sounded great for being an HTIB but lacked the detail and flat response that a component system would offer. I happened across my Advent Heritage speakers at a local retailer while looking at other furniture. They were open box priced and the savings were so incredible that I couldn't pass them up, even just for the opportunity to resell them online for more. After bringing them home and giving them a proper audition, they imediately became a new member to my HT family. Their exceptionally detailed highs, warm and realistic mids, and clean tight bass enhanced my HT 10x and brought new chills and goosebumps to movie watching. I don't feel I will have the need to upgrade anything but maybe the receiver for a long, foreseeable future.

The H500's are about 5.25 inches wide, 10 or 11 inches deep and about 45 inches tall. I think the H400 is around ~7-8 inches wide. Ebay and Amazon seem to have the best prices on them. They usually sell for about ~$120 a piece or ~$245 a pair. They weigh 39 lbs a piece so shipping may be on the higher side.

For anyone that may want/need to mount speakers that don't have eye hooks or other included mouting features, below are a couple of mounting solutions I found that won't compromise the speaker (require drilling into the speaker cabinet etc). These should work for any of the H100 up to the H300 and the Advent Center.

The one's I have seen on Amazon and Ebay are new in box, not used. Do a search in google on Advent H400 or H500 and you can find other retailers.

I understand you have Infinity Primus 250's which are a great speaker for the price. It would probably be mostly a lateral upgrade to try out the H400's or H500's from where you at. Depending on your tone preferences, you may or may not like them any better. I noticed slightly more detail from them but again, hearing is pretty subjective. I think I am done upgrading until, like you say, I have $1000/pair to spend (who knows when that will be since we just found out we are expecting a 3rd child).
