Thank you for the kind words. I have been finishing up some trim work in the hallway. You guessed it, more staining and more poly. I have spared you the pictures. I figure I can only get so much mileage out of the hallway pictures
I have also been working on the theater doorway and door. It is taking a while because I have to stain one side at a time, sand it down and stain again. I didn't want to stain it after hanging it, because the stain would tend to pool. It should look pretty sweet when it is done...hopefully by this weekend.
When all of the above is done, then it will be time to finish up the walls/columns/treatments in the theater, which will be no small task.
FoeHammer, that is a special acoustic resonating white strip of trim. I am thinking about marketing it and quiting my day job. PM me if you want one
Actually, when I built the stage, I was going to use some quarter round to create a lip. However, the angle of the curve was such that I could not bend the wood around the edge. Either it split or just wound not lay right against the edge. After several failed attempts to resolve this, I tried some PVC-like exterior quarter round. It was flexible enough to bend around the edge and create the lip. I am still wondering what the carpet installer is going to think about it when I get to that point
