Thanks, I thought it would be easier to do while building the rest of the home. My garage conversion was harder because of all the retro wiring etc.

90' as well!

Are you going to double green glue since you can use it between the sheetrock and chip board on the walls.

no, just one layer between the OSB and SR. The ceiling will be SR-GG-SR.

I ran out of GG.....and had to go on vacation.

I ordered ONE MORE CASE....and will finish next week.

I can"t believe i was one case short....ugh
post #69 of 123
As I see you do the GG thing, I can help but think, "Thank God, it is him doing that and not me!" I am so glad to have that behind me! The second layer of drywall is tough psychologically for some reason. Probably because it doesn't look any different from the first. In your case it does look different, so you may have a different perspective on the matter.

Have a good vacation, your GG will await you when you return

BTW, did you use the GG calculator? I thought it was guaranteed to leave you with half a case extra

My calc was bpape

I bought 11 cases for the room including the floor.

no need to be curious ...they are a blatant rip off of yours

My front will look a little different but I loved your soffit design so....

Not a rip off, but a "shared idea"! I think it looks good, but of course I'm biased....

chinadog, does this look familiar? It was surprisingly easy to finish and looks different enough to get the wow factor.

Thanks for the shared idea. sheet rock, lights, and A/C are next.

Aggie,

I really like your stage design. How high is the framing? 2x8 or 2x10's. I will be starting my stage shortly. I may have to borrow some ideas from you. I already bought 2x8's for mine and wasn't planning on an intermediate step, but it looks nice.

They are 2x12's with 2 layers of 3/4 OSB. I wanted something a little more dramatic for the stage. There will also be rope lights on both levels.

thanks!
