My second problem is burn in from gaming on ps3. I thought this was almost impossible, especially considering the care I take when gaming. I play games with contrast on 25, brightness -3, and power save 2. And I only use pure mode. WTF. I'm not some hardcore gamer either. Don't play 10 hours straight. Anyway, is there anything I can do? Should I even mention it to pioneer? Surely, they'll tell me to go away. Need help. Thanks.
Read this thread about the blinking lights issue. If after you try the recommendations there and still have the problem (many still do/did) - force the service issue with Pio!!!!http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=764225
As for burn in... have you followed the practice that many us did with our panels for "break in"? I have no IR or burn in issues. My calibrated panel has higher brightness & contrast settings than you are using and I play some games (not many, nor for long periods of time).
You can read about that here:http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=731242
There is a lot of information to digest in this thread. But the short explanation is that you use a special DVD disc, with special settings on your panel - to "break in" your display evenly and age the phosphors past the point where they are more prone to IR and burn in.
You can even reverse mild cases of IR and burn in by this methodology.
