I'm about as far politically from Jerry Springer as you can get but I don't see why he should worry about hanging around. He's only one of many in this show's short history (Jerry Rice comes to mind but there were plenty of others) who had no (dancing) business lasting as long as they did. I don't recall anyone ever uttering a word of regret (in fact Jerry and maybe George Hamilton may be the only exceptions).
I know the ratings are great but I have a feeling (maybe it's more a hope than a feeling) that this selling out of the original idea just to get ratings is going to backfire. As someone pointed out above (maybe it was you) it'll just turn into a freestyle contest with the "judges" falling all over themselves to give points to the people they are told are most popular.
BTW, when did they switch to American-style rhumba?
