Please Please Please let it be She Who Shall Not Be Named. I can't even mention her name but she has 8 kids that everyone looks after except her. That was very painful to watch last night.

She is the sole reason I didn't watch.

Wouldn't be surprised if Buzz is safe and Pamela is in the bottom two...again.

Any bets on how long Buzz remains? He can barely move, but he's got the fan base.

I hope Derek Hough doesn't have too much hair on is arm or is allergic to adhesive tape...

Agreed! Kate CANNOT dance worth a lick! I have a better chance of winning the mirror ball trophy than she does-and I have two left feet about 80% of the time.

Even money he will last about as long as Cloris Leachman did-into the middle of the season.

I'm also banking on Nicole to be in the final three, if not WIN it all. She and Derek are already looking like a seasoned pro couple.

Rules, shmools, Nicole was spectacular last night and the look (read that: cleavage) was nice too.

Nicole is clearly better than everyone else. However, if the judges continue their pattern of scoring the contestants evenly in order to let the people decide there could be another upset like last season's Donny Debacle. Who could harness that kind of fan base to overcome the frontunning dancer? Erin? Pam? lol

This is week 3 right? The quality of the dancing overall seems rather poor. About half of the celebrities I have never seen before, which wouldn't matter at all to me if they could dance. Some personal observations:

Pamela: As the only living heterosexual male of my generation who has never seen even one minute of Baywatch, I must admit I was impressed with Pamela's dancing. For such a plastic girl she seems quite grounded and intent on performing her best. Not appealing to me physically, unfortunately.

Nicole: One of the few reasons to tune in to this show, she is hotter than the sun and seems reasonably nice. Plus she can dance circles around any of the other contestants.

Aiden: Amiable chap, he is trying hard but his dancing is a big yawn inducer.

Bachelor Guy: Aye Dios Mio! What a sissy! "You are being disrespectful to me!" Dude, take your lessons like a man. From what they showed I didn't observe any disrespect, just tough instruction. He's heading for the metrosexual hall of fame.

Kate: Thank all that is good that I never saw this creature on television prior to last night. I've seen plain cardboard display more emotion! Why is she famous again? I don't get it...

Buzz: Painful to watch, but he is an American hero and an icon so if he sticks around until mid-season it won't bother me, and if he goes out tonight it won't either. Oh, and please stop showing his hideously disfigured wife: the knife didn't do her any favors.

Neice (sic): I'm sure I spelled that wrong. Anyhow, don't know her from Adam but she certainly is the polar opposite of The Beast, no lack of emotion here. Too fat and awkward to go very far.

Erin: Her appearance and personality just turn me the wrong way, so I don't really have anything good to say about her. I suppose her dancing was all right, and that's probably good enough to get to the final four considering the lackluster competition.

Chad: An overgrown kid, I guess I will root for him since he is from my alma mater (GO Beavs!) and it did seem like he gave a genuine effort last night. Funniest line of the night: "I needed something to bring out my cocky and arrogant side." Well, I guess that's only really funny if you follow the NFL.

Did I miss anyone? Probably.

Note to Cheryl and Edyta: my door is always open; I just can't understand why you don't come running.

Unfortunately the few minutes that Cheryl, Edyta, and Nicole are on screen are really not worth the nearly 2 hours of fluff and mediocrity. Even Cheryl and Edyta are being handicapped quite a bit by their inept partners, so their ample talents are muted.

I will probably check-in again in a few weeks after ensuring that The Beast is gone. I have way too much faith in the ignorance and stupidity of the masses to believe that she will actually be gone tonight.

All good stuff...

Regarding Buzz and his significant Other I think he met her on one of those Moon voyages plucked her from a crater.

They've both had obvious work done, but Buzz must have opted for the economy job for wifey. That's painful.

Nicole is in the same position as Mya was last year. Head and shoulders above the rest, but over the season there might be an improvement in a Evan or Erin to make this a competition. Also, she's suffering from Len's equalization scoring until later in the season. I get a kick out of Erin and Max. I was a bit put off in some of her preseason interviews, but she's got a killer sense of humor and is really competitive. I think she's giving Max a run for his money and that he appreciates it. I also think Anna's showing more emotion and pizzaz this season than I've seen before. She's certainly dressing flashier. Maybe having a partner that has a chance has inspired her.

Is anyone else waiting for Tom to say "Will Pamela's top two keep her out of the bottom two?" What a line it would be!

He probably will, assuming she remains in the competition long enough! He's gotten away with worse.

FYI, I'm actually enjoying Pam's dancing. She clearly has some talent there, other than her better known "assets".

I liked the "attempt" to do an homage to Strictly Ballroom by Chad and Cheryl with the knee slide and the red dress and the boy gets girl theme...

Unfortunately, Chad wasn't really able to pull it off. I have been wondering if he would be doing better if he had Anna D. for a partner. I think the height difference with Cheryl is really hurting his posture and making him stiffen up.

Agreed, but I watched Kimmel last night and I can't believe Brooke(who I really like) said she's rooting for Kate She said she likes the underdog
Underdog, schmunderdog, this is a dancing competition and she #1 on my list of who's got to go, following close behind is Buzz, Niecy Nash also gets on my nerves a little but at least has some dancing talent. Not the strongest year but Nicole is a bright spot and should be good competition for Evan.

The results are...

Sorry folks, but Kate & Toni live to dance (or she will try to) next week.

No red light district for Pam and Damien. But they didn't announce the bottom two until the very end.

First, for those looking for Lacey , Dimitri, Jonathan and Anna D, they're not in the competition but they are available for pro dance performances - they danced on Monday night and Lacey and Dimitri on Tuesday night.

The bottom two - Chelsie & Jake and Ashly & Buzz.

The eliminated couple:
Ashly & Buzz (apparently the audience didn't stick around for another vote for Buzz). Well, he at least got three dances with Ashly. And he'll be gracious enough (I hope!) to show up on JKL tonight.

It looks like my Monday and Tuesday are free once again.

How Chelsie and what's his face could be in the bottom two after her Egyptian look is a disgrace to America.

Is there a vote-for-the-worst movement going on for Kate (I think Idol used to have something like this).

For the record, I miss Lacey and Kym as pros.
Hmm nobody comments on the figure skater? I think he's the best among the males, but he's also have the easiest time because of what he does full time. Yeah Nicole is the best, but for me it's Erin who I care for most. She may not be the most talented, but she has the best screen presence, much like a movie star not a reporter. And for all the crap she has to deal with now, her attitude is just fabulous. I agree about Pavelka, he and Ryan Seacrest should get a room they're so much alike.
At least we got rid of one of the few awful couples. Hopefully Chelsea ( I don't see her appeal at all. She's too short and average looking compared to the real beauties dancing) and her a-hole of a partner go next. Also what the hell happened to Lacey? Didn't make the season so she went on the all-donut diet? Ouch.

In the news today Jon wants expanded custody of the 8 kids cause Kates off on TV dancing.. You cant make this stuff up about these two..

Yeah my wife said the same thing.... that's going to be your final-- Evan vs. Nicole. They are in a different league from the rest of this group.

I don't know about Pam (except that she seems to be a lot nicer and with a better sense of humor than I imagined) but I am impressed with Erin.

I didn't think I'd like her but she's funny and seems genuinely nice and I think she does a very good job dancing. Despite Len ("Suddenly Got Religion") Goodman's complaint, she and Maks did more in-hold waltz than I've seen in 99% of the other couples' performances and did it well (albeit with no heel leads). Together with Evan and Nicole I think it will be an interesting competition.

I don't think Len understands what kind of show he's a part of. First and foremost, it's ENTERTAINMENT. He ripped the two best PERFORMANCES of the night. What an old idiot. And to those that say his critiques dont affect the outcome, they do. Just ask Maya.

Yeah, he's the "Simon" of this show.

As predicted, The Beast aka She Who Shall Not Be Named survives to disgrace the dance floor once again. As predicted, the ignorant, stupid, and masochistic masses have their way.

It reminds me of the scene in Independence Day when we hurl the nukes full on at the alien ship... "Target remains. Target Remains!"

I knew I forgot someone...

Evan: This guy just has too much of the white-gangster-wannabe affectation for my taste. I was actually shocked, I didn't pay much attention to the Olympics, I find it hard to believe he had the discipline to be a gold medalist. He reminds me of some former employees who couldn't make it to work on time, and he really doesn't seem that bright. If it's an act, I wish he would knock it off. Then again, I probably am being too harsh after observing him for only a few moments. Plus I'm spoiled by the perky optimism of Shawn Johnson.

Huh What in the world gave you that impression. The guy is pretty buttoned down, been training 12 hours a day for years for the Olympics...not noted for his over-the-top athleticism, but his work ethic and technical consistency. This is probably the first time he's ever gotten this much attention along with the chance to let his hair down. My impression of him from the Olympics was that he might be another Brian Boitano (in the closet when he competed), not so sure now, in fact probably totally wrong. White gansta
post #3959 of 5470
I agree with Ron, everything I've seen about Evan makes me think he's a very hard working down to earth guy. All during the Olympics it was stated he probably had the best work ethic of any of the competitors(for sure the figure skaters).
He does seem to come off as a little aggressive or overly cocky on DWTS but that's not what I've seen of him before or during the Olympics.
Part of it could be his slicked back hair or maybe even a part of the producers to portray him more macho, to counteract the typical view of a male figure skater.
Johnny Weir and Evan couldn't be further apart and I just don't see the two sharing a beer, in fact I really never see them together or talking.

I've also wondered over the years if their is a spoilers type of website that suggest the worst person to vote for, otherwise I can't believe someone like Kate could manage more than a few sympathetic votes

While I'm on voting practices, I sure wish DWTS would go to a NO vote vs the current YES vote. What I mean by that is I believe the worst dancers would get culled faster if people voted for who they thought should go home, instead of their favorite.
The problem with favorite voting is almost everybody is going to vote for a Nicole or Evan or Erin but very few will vote someone like Jake or Pamela, their not bad but just not that great. Other people that just want to make a mockery of the show or think it's funny will purposely vote for someone like Kate or Buzz. This leaves the middle of the pack more vulnerable to being eliminated, especially early in the show with many dancers and therefor more poor dancers to split the spoiler vote.
If people voted for the poorest dancer, IMO the poorer dancers would go first, followed by the middle of the road dancers and finally the best would be left.
I realize this would put a negative connotation on the show(voting for the worst) instead of a positive (voting for your favorite) but I really believe it would cull out the worse dancers earlier in the show. By the time the show gets down to 3 or 4 dancers it's generally the best dancers, it's just the middle of the road dancers would go further than I think they go now.
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I tend to think more in the negative. That is I think who I want to go first(like they gotta get rid of that Kate, Buzz etc.) vs who I want to keep. I doubt anything will come of my wish, but one can dream
post #3960 of 5470
Jake and Chelsea were in the bottom two because many female voters do not like how he is acting in the rehearsal studio -- he is bossy and rude. Aww, how *sad* you thought she was disrespecting you! boo-hoo. Now shut up and dance. Chelsea is also my least favorite of the female pros. No votes from me.

He may go next week, but I agree that Kate should go next. She is one of the worst dancers ever on this show. I feel truly sorry for Tony.

Niecy has an honesty and forthrightness that is very appealing, and again, for women voters, we like seeing that someone who isn't a size 2 can really pull off what she's being asked to do. Louis is the perfect partner for her, as he was with Kelly last season.

Evan is clearly the best among the pretty weak field of men. He's also just such a nice, decent person who has conducted himself with class, both during the Olympics controversy and so far in the rehearsal studio. Absent something dramatic, he'll be around for the top 3.

Nicole is a great dancer, but as with Mya last season, it's hard not to feel like she doesn't have a huge leg up on most of the other contestants. Being coordinated and able to pick up dance moves quickly is a huge part of what girls in groups like the PCD's do.

ETA: BTW, I don't buy the "fix" theory. Shannen was eliminated because women can't stand her. Her reputation as a world-class diva spans two generations of TV viewers (the 90210 generation and the Charmed generation) and no matter how many times she repeated the "it's for my dad" story did most of us feel any empathy toward her.
