Dancing with the Stars...on ABC...in HD! - Page 150

I didn't watch it this year but we did see some of the finale, and it reinforeced why I hadn't been watching. It just upsets me to watch them dance to music that does not fit the dance. Tangos to soft rock music. And then there was that waltz that was done to a song in 4/4 time when it should have been done to 3/4 time. Sure they played the song with a triplet beat, which would then make for a super fast waltz. Waltzes are slow 3/4 time tempos.

They also do Paso Dobles to non Paso Doble music.

What they call salsa is a latin dance, but hardly salsa. This band does not know how to play salsa music and the dances they do to non salsa music, does not resemble salsa at all.

Err? I feel so left out of the loop.

Apparently a number of posts were removed - presumably by moderators - and the remaining posts which reference them seem to make little sense. Don't worry about it... you just arrived at the party as everyone was leaving. You didn't miss much. As internet flame wars go, it was actually rather tame.

We (I) try to play by the rules.

I had a line edited out of one of my posts, and it wasn't even remotely "political", or even especially controversial in any way. It also wasn't in reference to anyone else's political statements.

Stranger yet was that it was left in the quotes in the two responding posts right after that.

Probably had something to do with how far "off topic" it may have been. Whatever it was, I too missed out on the last gasp.

Actually the members of this board are generally quite polite and well behaved, generally saving our berating of each other for our misguided opinions on the LCD vs plasma dispute. A few other threads have nearly come to virtual grabbing of the collar while threatening "why, I oughta..."

Could have been a mistake, but I remember it differently.

who's up this year? I heard Lindsey Lohan? true? any other rumors?
Season 12 will premiere March 21:

http://www.thewrap.com/television/co...urn-date-24375

I have not heard any casting rumors outside of Lindsay Lohan, but as I have said in the past, I am still hoping for Debbie Gibson (who just came off a star turn in the Syfy movie 'Mega-Python vs. Gatoroid)...
As bad as the cast was last season, it wouldn't surprise me if they try and one-up themselves this season and do a crossover show with Dr. Drew's Celeb Rehab.

Then they could cast Lohan and bunch of other Hollywood junkie losers that need to "rehab" their career.

[Does it show that I'm still bitter about last season's casting?]

I caught RR(Rachael Ray) today and they were teasing that she might be on season 12 of DWTS? She, Kim Kardashian and Tony D. were on and Rachael wore a DWTS type outfit and danced with Tony. Tony called this her "audition" although she wouldn't confirm anything......I could think of a lot worse stars to have on season 12(many of whom were on season 11).

It's been reported that Derek will not be on this season.

Larry King has lots of time on his hands these days.
Just what he needs, I'm sure - another heart operation.

Yep, no Derek this spring season; he is doing a movie instead. However, he has also said that he will be back on DWTS next fall. I bet we do not see his sister again on DWTS though. She is a busy gal, and dating Ryan Seacrest.

We've now lost (most likely, permanently) two of its more popular ladies - Edyta and Julianne.

Hmmm. I caught a part of RR a few days ago where she went on and on for like three minutes about how she would never do DWTS because she wouldn't feel comfortable wearing the skimpy costumes.

Perhaps it was a case of "the lady doth protest too much".

I miss Julianne but I'll really miss Edtya. I think she is one classy lady.

Announcement about the next season's lineup tomorrow on The Bachelor. Hardly heard any speculation. Anyone see anything?
ABC has been advertising it pretty heavily today, I'll have to wait for someone else to post the results. Both tuners will be tied up recording something else and I can't think of much worse than having to watch the bachelor live

For those who want to know and discuss.

this is the weakest season so far....
^^ disagree

Looking forward to several contestants...

Here are the 11 celebrities competing this season on “Dancing with the Stars”:

~Sugar Ray Leonard - Should be interesting. Met him a few months ago, really down to earth.

~Petra Nemcova - very nice

~Ralph Macchio - come on, who doesn't want to see him in a gi at least once and Crane Kick?

~Rapper Romeo - whatever, he is pretty good hoops player

~Chelsea Kane (”Jonas“) - no clue

~Hines Ward - so is he retiring from the NFL?

~Chris Jericho - haven't watched WWE in a long time but he was very charasmatic in the WCW years ago.

~Kendra Wilkinson - meh, hope she doesn't talk much

~Kirstie Alley - love it! Let's see if she loses some weight, I had a huge crush on her when she was on Cheers, now she crushes buffets.

~Wendy Williams - ugh

~Mike Catherwood - no clue

The celebrity-pro dancer pairings will be unveiled Wednesday morning on “Good Morning America.”

The two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” airs Monday, March 21 on ABC.
Ward is not retiring but season DWTS starts in March and ends in what....May? Besides NFL is going to lockout at end of this week.
At least I don't feel the need to boycott again this season...
Why would one boycott?
Probably cause of Palin
I could only watch one season; Season 9, the one Donny Osmond won. When I turned it off the audience was clapping; I suspect they are still clapping. It's the clap-happiest show I've ever seen.

Disappointed, nothing too exciting with this line up.

They went with the usual formula covering all demographics but skewed more towards a younger audience. It would’ve been nice to see a few people of interest as opposed to a DJ, and several other insignificant “stars.”

"You" would think that there are so many stars lined up begging to be on this show.

I hear that Charlie Sheen is available.
