but anyways, the problem I'm experiencing occurs just about every time i try and turn on the TV. when i press the power button, instead of clicking once and immediately powering on, it clicks for about 20-40 seconds while the standby led flashes, and then turns on. i also happened to notice that once the TV has been on for a little while, i can turn it off and back on again without the problem occurring, its only when the TV has been kept off for awhile or its really cold that the problem happens.
so, for the past few days Ive been searching through different forums looking for some help to try and find out whats wrong with my TV, but nobody seems to really understand my problem. every time i try and explain what is happening, I'm always told, "don't worry the clicking noise is normal, its just the TV warming up" so, in hopes that i might find some answers here, i wanna just make sure and clarify that the clicking noise I'm encountering isn't the "TV warming up/thermal expansion" clicking that alot of people seem to hear coming from the backs of their sets right after powering on their TV; the clicking noise I'm having trouble with occurs while the TV is ATTEMPTING to turn on. once the TV is on, there's no clicking noise whatsoever. now, I'm not entirely too sure whats causing it, but in my opinion it sounds as if the clicking noises are being created by relays attempting to power on, failing, and reattempting until they successfully turn on.
i went to the Samsung website to see if i can find any information that could help me figure it out, and after going through their online troubleshooter, this is what i was told:
"My TV Clicks Many Times And Takes Longer Than 30 Seconds To Turn On:
If your TV is clicking many times and taking a long time (longer than 30 seconds) to turn on. This is an indication that some internal component is failing and your TV will require service."
so, has anyone experienced anything similar to this? I'm assuming that something inside the TV is about ready to give out and is gonna need to be replaced, but i need to know what. any ideas? could it be the power supply or the motherboard maybe? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot
