I thought the female detective arrested the telepathic cop because she thought he had something to do with the crime. Not only can't she understand how he found the little girl, but she was surprised he knew the name Sylar. So she suspects that he could be involved in the crime.

yeah that was the reason but he knew to much and he waltz into their crime scene and found the girl, he made them look bad. She will get it later that he can read minds. She has no proof to arrest him. He will be let go at the station. Just my opinion. We will see what happens in 20 min.

what is wrong with the sound tonight? its all tiny and metallic sounding, but fine on the SD channel? local or national issue?
Unfortunately national, if you're in TN. I'm in Mass, OTA.
I had the same problem with the sound, tinny, kinda sounded like an echo.
The sound is just fine here in Houston on TWC but the picture gets quite pixelated at times. I just finished watching tonight's episode and I must say this has to be one of the best shows on tv right now. I hope this last for a few more seasons.

man that japanese guy needs to win a emmy or grammy or whatever the he77 they give out, that guy is hilarious.
I recorded the show to my computer via firewire, just got done checking it out. The sound is only 2 channel, not 5.1, which is a little weird. For the people who had normal sound, could you tell for sure if it was 5.1?
My OTA feed was 2 channel only as well. I spent the first three commercial breaks trying to figure out whether my receiver had a hosed up setting. I suspect they took a 5.1 audio feed and stripped out all but the front left and front right channels, but didn't mix in the other content; The voices would have sounded funny without the center channel info.

Rather than spend 5 minutes with each character, I wish they would zero in on a couple characters per episode. Although still enjoyable, this style is too fragmented.

Not for me, sounded overly high pitched.

I think Dope-Dude will become an evil-mutant. Especially after his latest discovered drawings.
Claire was looking a bit piqued at the end of the show

I love previews, but sometimes they show too much in the previews, they shouldn't have shown Claire in the previews for next week's show.
this episode was still great, but they didn't really advance the story much this time out. and who was that mystery girl at the bonfire? yikes if they introduce yet another character i'm going to scream...
Adelphia cable here in Boynton Beach, FL. The sound was attrocious, and as others described, it was as if the 5.1ch mix was messed up with the front channels de-emphasized in favor of the center channel and no surrounds at all. Someone in charge of telecasting this show should get sitcanned !! This is the second time they screwed up this show in four weeks !!

Anyway, the episode was very good, and is giving us an early indication of who might end up on which side of the good or evil fence.

Amen. I'm so glad he's gone back in time and is bringing his buddy along. There's like the Japanese Bing Crosby and Bob Hope lol....Road To Nyuuu Yooku.

Yeah. Interesting how he THINKS the Heroin is what gives him his ability. We touched on this earlier, I wonder if it's true? Odd message for a big 3 network to send out: Do Heroin, See The Future! :-)

Ok, So how creepy was it with Buffy waking up on the autopsy table?!?!

Ok, Neighbor girl definitely ratted out the doc so Sylar could move his things (or someone could).

The black guy in the bar was wearing a necklace with that funky symbol on it (the one that keeps showing up in drawings, patterns, DNA, etc)

So Sylar is apparently telepathic, telekinetic, invulnerable, and can fly. If he can stop time and teleport the Heroes are in serious trouble. I'm hoping Hiro is their wild card with the one ability Sylar lacks.

I'm guessing sylar eats the brain or uses the brains of other people with power to gain more powers.
Nice ending. I was expecting her to play dead until the jerk left, then "heal" or whatever and that would be it. The whole autopsy thing was great. I wonder what, if any, role her "dad" played in that, since we know he knows what she knows but hasn't told him.

This sylar guy totally freaks me out. Had to watch with the lights on and sound muted when they were in his apt. I'm just not into serial killers. That's why I don't watch CSI: Springfield. Still don't know if he's connected to the cheerleader's daddy. If not, they ought to go after him and spare me the rest of the eerie music.

I can't believe the Vegas chick hasn't put 2+2 together and figured out her baby daddy is the one who's in the ground. At least, I'm pretty sure.

With all of the "people" being pretty bad, I wonder why the show is called "Heroes".

The guy that tried to rape Claire has been handing over evidence to her "father". There's no way her "father" would have known about the tape if they weren't communicating somehow.

Of course, her "father" could have powers too and is ashamed of being that way. Maybe that's why he needs to know more about it.

We may also have a "morpher" on our hands and not even know it. There could be one "character" playing many characters within the show. Kind of like Mystique from X-Men. This could be a twist later on.

I also really like the brothers storyline. Just when you think the Nathan is being a good brother, it has everything to do with manipulation for getting elected. Also, Peter may not be able to fly without is brother there. This is evident by his failing to fly from the monkey bars.

The sound was bad here in Denver, too. But no video problems.

The funky symbol was also on the cover of Dr. Suresh's book, so it most likely is a portion of DNA strand, as someone mentioned earlier.

I'm hoping the girl at the bonfire is just the QB's ex or something - not another Hero. But they've done a good job introducing new characters, so it may not be so bad if she's got powers.

Why does Sylar want the little girl? Couldn't he find her earlier? Maybe he's not telepathic.

It's way too early to tell if this will last, but there are several things I like better than Lost - not the least of which is that the characters aren't afraid to share information.

I'm curious where people think this is going. Is Sylar going to be the anti-hero (the Magneto) who organizes the baddies? Is Claire's dad Sylar, or just someone else (government) trying to control all of the Heroes? Is the NYC explosion the season climax, or a story line that brings some (or all) of the heroes together and is resolved in a few weeks (theoretically, by November 8 if they stick to the timeline)? I can wait for the real answers, of course, as long as they give us some of them before the end of the season.

Why would it be him? Didn't she say that DL (?) killed all of his crew? And if it is DL, how would Niki have known where to find him after he escaped from prison? OK - don't answer that last question. But at least I don't think she put him there, since none of the heroes really seemed to have powers until the eclipse. Except for maybe the politician.
The point is that maybe her bad side killed him and her good side didn't know it.
I'm sure the explosion is a MAJOR plot point that won't get resolved in just a few episodes. The main question I would like answered is: Will the explosion plot point climax at the end of this season or will it run throughout the entire SERIES? I certainly hope it's just the season and doesn't boil over into season 2.

Also, that DNA strand logo sure is getting crammed down our throats. It's on books, on necklaces, in paintings, in swimming pools, in code, etc. I'm just hoping we're not in some kind of Matrix.

Exactly. And she has nothing but bad things to say about him, and he seems to be MIA right now--no one close to him has seen him. Her "bad" side has done all kinds of things that she has no recollection of whatsoever. Maybe I'm wrong, but it was what I thought immediately.

Umm, I don't know if that's right. Claire and the filmboy seemed to have been working on her personal version of "Faces of Death" well before the eclipse. And Mr. Heroin has been painting for some time as well.

This ep was a little slow moving, compared to the previous eps. It's as if they suddenly realized they are going to be picked up for the full season, so they have to stretch out the material more now.

I wish they would use a different narrator. He sounds like the same one who did Surface, and makes the Heroes recap seem cheesy by association.
Sound was fine to me, but the PQ left a lot to be desired.
I see what you people mean by the sound now. What a screw up...

Sound messed up in L.A. as well. Picture looks great though.
