My example was used to assume that there would be no commercial power failures or unexpected updates to the boxes during the recording process or Series Manager process. I don't think I have ever had a recording going on during a software update. Maybe once or twice a power failure.
In the event of a commercial power failure Navigator MAY pick up the recording when power is restored. If the box unexpectedly reboots, it will pick up with the show about one minute after the power comes back on with a second recording in the list. (Or after the box boot cycle completes.) If the show ends or could not record due to power failure, you should get "The settop was unable to record the program in the Recording Log."
