Anyone see/hear the new Maggie CCR true-ribbon center at CEDIA?

The CCR is the true-ribbon center that's been in development at Magnepan for quite a while. Supposed to have an optional bass panel. Did anyone here see (preferably hear) it? Pics?

From http://www.hometoys.com/news.php4?se...ew&id=14053663:

Denver One Exhibit Room

Conrad-Johnson, in collaboration with Magnepan, will be exhibiting a music lover's surround sound system featuring conrad-johnson's unique MET1 6-channel analogue preamplifier and their new 5-channel MET150 enhanced triode power amplifier. The MET150 employs a vacuum-tube voltage gain stage, making it a rare breed among multi-channel amplifiers. The MET150 will be driving Magneplanar 20.1s for L/R channels, 3.6s for surround channels and Magnepan's new CCR reference center channel speakers. Source will be a McCormack Audio UDP1, conrad-johnson edition.

An Industry Highlight for those 'in the know': Magnepan is demonstrating Harry Pearson's 'Super Maggie' system. One change from Harry's system - the center channel speaker is the long awaited CCR (center speaker designed for the 20.1 and 3.6). Home theater surround-sound the way it should be.

Dealer says it's due out "December-ish". OTOH, in January Magnepan said "March-ish".

I could use one of those CCR center channels, to go with my MGIIIA's. Using a MMGC right now, the idea of the optional bass panel has me really intriqued. Had not heard about that before, and the true ribbon tweeter would be nice too. I wonder what price range they are thinking about?

I had heard in June that pricing would be about $2,500. Presumably w/o the optional bass panel. Hopefully it will come in lower than that.

At $2500+bass panel I'd be better off splitting a pair of 3.6's with someone and turning it on it's side. Have Grant make a custom stand.

All I've heard so far is that it is NOT bi-ampable. Is this true?

I hope it is bi-ampable, because otherwise I feel that the design goal to match it with the 3.6 or 20.1s is lost...

If course, if the new CCR is 3dB more efficient than the 20.1s, then bi-amping may not be needed. (Bi-amping the 20.1/3.6 gives roughly a 3dB gain, which is much needed since these speakers are very inefficient).

The MSRP is apparently set at $2,700.00...

My understanding is that the $2700 msrp does not include an optional "bass panel".

I am very happy with this alternative, which is a perfect match to the 3.6.
