LED projectors- What happened to them?

Whatever happened to the promise of LED projection?

Never mind size limitation or price or any other shortcomings associated with 1st gen products, but did CEDIA have anything on display or are LED projectors the fp equivalent of the electric car?

One of the DLP vendors had LED based RP DLP sets at CEDIA. If it takes off there, then there's no reason why it won't work for FP displays down the line.

I'm waiting for the LG LED DLP projector with 100 ANSI lumen (aving.REMOVEnet/usa/news/default.REMOVEasp?mode=read&c_num=26957&c_code=03&sp_code=0&btb_num=101): the BumbleBee seems to be a real 23 lumens, not 150!

Projectors made of led were a failed experiment- too heavy to lift and ceiling mount

LEDs are still improving in efficiency. I think they'll eventually get good enough for a projector. But yes, they will still probably take up more space than other technologies.

LED light sources are still improving. Check this from Lamina Ceramics:
