Yep!! There's an episode coming up in a week titled "Sneeze"... and it looks like I got my wish; Green Arrow is the next super hero to appear on Smallville, and the first in a costume!!:

Angel of Vengeance in Vengeance wore a Zorro mask while fighting crime and had a long leather coat that was more like a cape. Does that count as a costume?

Also a reminder for those areas like Charlotte where the UPN affiliate is the new CW - old Tivo season passes for WB shows need to be deleted and new ones setup under the new channel number.

I'm so excited for this. I could never pull WB OTA, but I can get UPN station!! GO HD!

The episodes often get posted on Usenet and other places on the Internet. The people who do this are breaking copyright laws and you would not be obtaining legal copies of the episodes. You could be subject to fines and/or a jail sentence if caught and prosecuted.

But the show does look great in HD so it may be a tough decision for you.

is there any other way? damn, waiting a whole year for the dvd is pretty bad.

I'm doing that with Battlestar Galactica, buying the DVDs a year after the season started. Not fun at all except you get to watch four or five episodes a night when you get them.

I meant an established DC hero, not one created by the Smallville writers

Green Arrow is coming soon this year on Smallville.

I still don't like the fact that Zods' body was destroyed , but we got a glimpse of the real him as he was being recaptured (after first beating Clark like Agent Smith).

Here in UT the HD feed sucks, black bars on all sides. Why do we need HDTVs (16x9) to watch this crap? What a freakn' joke CW. Is this the new way we are suppose to watch HD?
Wow, pretty good Season Opener. Let's see if they keep this up for the rest of the season.
Absolutely perfect timing. I got my Sony Pearl on Friday and my 119" diagonal Da-lite High Power screen on Tuesday. Smallville is unbelievably great on this set-up. When you get a close-up of Lana or Chloe and their faces are five feet tall, just Wow. I have the past three seasons saved on DVHS tape and have viewed at least five classic episodes waiting for tonight's premiere. I was surprised they managed to tie up all the cliffhangers in one episode; they can certainly move the story forward briskly when they need to. I just hope they can keep up the tempo for the rest of the season.

Blame your affiliate, not the network. You should be making some phone calls to the affiliates GM or SM, bitch and complain.

As usual - fantastic, action-packed premiere. Can't wait for the finale.

No HD on the CW affiliate in Albuquerque (KWBQ). This is the first time I've tried to watch anything on that channel, so I don't know if it's standard operating procedure, or if they just fouled up tonight. I won't watch it in SD, unless it's on the anamorphic DVD set--I hate to think I'll have to wait all that time for this season, but I've watched the other seasons on DVD only (just started late last year).

I was digging it...looks like the formula for season 6 is "phantom zone freak of the week" instead of the "meteor rock freak of the week" or the "Braniac trick of the week" or the "crystal gathering trick of the week", etc...etc...etc...

Anyways...I love it as usual...

Any difference in PQ between the episodes on the WB vs the CW? I know for many it's a different station now.
Looks like it is the same formula again.

Season opener/finale will deal heavily with an arc story and have a nice cookie cutter conclusion. Then, off we go with the freak of the week episodes.

This season, the "arc" will probably be Clark battling a phantom every now and then.

That's not HD if you have bars on all sides. Your watching SD.

I'm sorry, but this wrap-up of a cliff hanger was pretty weak for me. It just seemed like they took the material for about 6 shows and jammed them all into one episode. It just felt hurried to wrap it all up at once. Nothing had any depth.

Phantom Zone - about 4 minutes of attention.
Intro of Jimmy Olsen - 1 minute of attention.
Martha & Lois at N.Pole - 3 minutes until resolution
Lionel saying stuff that didn't add to episode - 3 minutes
Epic battle of Clark and Zod fighting to save the world - 2 minutes
Lana trying to understand Zod/Lex's new feelings - 27 minutes
Lex able to regain Lana's trust just hours after ramming a pole through her hand - about 5 sentences. Just as long as it concludes with "Its making the hard choices which make us grow".

Bring on Next week, but this one won't get a "protect" on my DVR.

Is anybody on the west coast getting this in HD? My affialite tried switching to the HD feed 3 times and just got a black screen.
KTLA is showing it in HD. I'm also watching the HD CW satellite network feed.

It's been too long since I enjoyed a Smallville episode this much. Hopefully they can continue this trend.

Here in Philly, moving from WPHL to WPSG because of the WB/UPN merger was the best thing that could've happened to this show. The old WPHL/WB/MyNetwokTV HD signal was easily the worst in the area, whereas WPSG/UPN/CW's quality rivaled that of the best HD broadcaster in the area: WCAU/CBS. The show looked amazing and had much less compression artifacts.

That's pretty funny.

Will tonights episode be replayed this week at all?
I got "Smallville" from WGN HD Chicago via Bell ExpressVu.

1. The opening credits had terrible pixelation/macroblocking
2. The HD PQ seemed a little sub par ... I watch CSI next ... the PQ was so much better.

As far as the episode ... I agree, a great start to the season. So many possiblities. And we finally got to meet Jimmy ... or should that be James!!! So, funny.
