This will be quite a blow to all the CW network executives that monitor this thread constantly.

That is my hope.

Not having followed the comics that the story is based on, I question the characterization of Lex as a teen. Having watched this show from the start, that is not how I would picture Lex as a teen. I see him in the Queen mode, arrogant and in charge - not a semi mopey outcast. Is that the way the comic version of him behaved?

Lex first appeared in the comics as an adult...a corrupt scientist.

That's what's screwed up.

In additon to the normal 3/2 3/2 which is exactly as they describe above every few frames. multiple frames are blended into one frame and the faces are competely distorted.

I'm watching this on a westinghouse 37" LCD 1080p tv.
I don't get the HD CW on my digital cable timewarner here in LA.

So it's only on the SD broadcast. I don't know if I'd see this on the HD.

Running the signal straigh into a normal TV it is still totally visible without any capturing. I see the same problems on a SD tv. I could capture some frames and show some stills.

How can I post a picture here?

Hmm-Black Canary arriving in Smallville wouldn't hurt the male demographic at all. interesting plot potential(knock-down drag-out with Lois-we'd all pay to see that, wouldn't we?LOL). & they'd probably have her write off Oliver Queen as a spoiled rich boy at first. then she'd get the hots for Clark & he'd reject her(wimp)....you know on second thought let's keep BC out of it, she deserves better.

What are you recording this on?

He didn't become an outcast until the kids turned on him after everybody believed he killed his baby brother.

Ok, I think its safe to say that the "Zoner" freak-of-the-week theme is moving forward in full force here...

Did any comic-fanatics check out the description for next weeks episode? Looks like they are going to play off of an old controversial "speedy/roy harper" angle from the 'green arrow' comics from back when...

Most are using www.imageshack.us. Is this SD from digital cable or OTA? I assume since your in LA you're watching this from KTLA.

Too bad they killed off Raya. She was a good romantic interest for Kal.

It seems on this show, female super-powered characters tend to either go bad or are killed off, while male super-powered characters tend to be like the Flash, Aquaman, or Green Arrow.

Why do Kryptonian characters other than Kal gain super powers immediately when they arrive on Earth, while Kal still does not have all his powers? Growing up with all that K around has probably retarded his development.
Wasn't "Raya" oddly similar to "Kara", the naked girl that showed up in the last show of season three pretending to be from Krypton?

Oh wait, "Kara" was played by Adrianne Palicki who's now playing "Tyra" on Friday Night Lights. No wonder I got them confused.

I see the downfall of the lana lex relationship started with this last episode. Now with the hint of someone on the show getting pregnant makes for some interesting upcomming scenes.

Well, technically, Green Arrow doesn't have any "superpowers" - just a super bank account - like Bruce Wayne .
Is that why they call him the "Green" Arrow?

I took Clark's comment that he would expand beyond Smallville after he took care of the Zoners to mean that after the Zoners were taken care of he would become Superman. How did others take this comment?

I took it to mean that maybe he might not get Lana back, and that means his life won't perfect and he won't be able to take over his dad's farm and live a normal boring life forever like he's always been planning to do.

But that's how I take every dumb thing he says every week since he looks at every crisis as a temporary situation. Once the Freeks or Zoners of the week are destroyed, everything will be fine and he and Lana will get married and he'll only use his super powers for fixing up the farm and doing magic tricks to entertain his future children. Oh, and Lana will never suspect anything because she either be unconcious or too dumb to put it together in that empty little head of hers.

I took it to mean that finishing his training with Jor-el will be a goal, but must go on hold until he cleans up the Zoner situation.

Meaning, expect more ZotW until the season (series?) finale in May when he'll finally go off for that training and come back as Supes. Maybe the final shot will be Tom Welling flying off in the Supes uniform.
Same here. I think he was saying that we can probably milk the zoners for a full season, then I can start my training.

Actually they'll probably set up one super zoner to be the arch-nemesis that shows up in the 2nd to last show, or the finale, then he will be the focus for all of next season.
So do we have a zoner count? From the stars in the sky shot, it looks like only 6 - 8. Now two are dead. Will this be a never ending well? Shame that Raya had to die off this early. She could have taken at least one shower at the Talon.

It depends on what their plans for the series are. They've stated the 'no flights no tights' rule...so if they end it this season, we might see that. Otherwise we'll see it towards the end of next season?

It would certainly be nice if they would finally decide to shake things up and GO FOR THE RATINGS!!!! Let them play their 'zoner' games this year, but keep dropping the big hints. Then at the season finale have Clark go for his training thing and start season 7 twelve years later like the first movie. Jumping the show forward 12 years would require all of the actors to push their performances up to another level. And you finally would get a big element of surprise for the audience. I mean go ahead and announce in the season finale what is going to happen. It would guarantee a huge bump in the season 7 premiere. Has any show ever tried anything like that? I don't think so. It is time they shake things up.

Although they are reimaging the whole Superboy/Superman mythos, if they wanted to keep at least an element of the original movie, then your timeline would work. Remember in that movie, Clark left the farm, went to the FOS and then emerged in full costume.

That would be a fitting end to Smallville, and a great start to a sequel called Metropolis.

That's what the show has been doing for the past three seasons or so but the hints have been mostly false and it's getting frustrating. In season four they added way more sex and soap opera subplots in an attempt to go for the ratings and it failed. Last season it was more back to the original storyline and ratings improved.

This could work but unfortunately it would involve risk and that's one thing the producers of Smallville are frightened of.

I can't believe that no one mentioned that Bow Wow was so misplaced in that episode...

I don't think they want to conflict with the current movie franchise, so they may not jump that far ahead.

Come to think of it...hasn't Clark already gone for 'training'? At the end of Season 4, when he was taken by Jor-el and returned able to fly etc (but not remembering his name, etc). They never really dealt with that. Or did I miss something?

That wasn't Clark, it was Jor-el. Well the spirit of Jor-el took over Clark. So it was Jor-el that was doing the flying, not Clark.
