Any HD easter eggs in season 2 ep 1? There must be one, it's how the Federlines roll.

Where was Catalina? She was conspiculously absent from the first episode of season 2.
Yes, she was, I hope she's still with the show.

It appears she will be back in episode number 2.

"Jump for Joy"
A strip joint's owner (Burt Reynolds) will lend Earl money if he can convince Catalina to return to work there.

Don't expect any more HD Easter eggs IMO as the show is now 16:9 on the SD channel.

Easter Eggs in HD? Please explain...
There have been a few. One last year was in a shot at the bar where one of the beer taps was labeled "HD Beer" - it was only visible in the 16:9 cut.

A few more were in the photocopy shop and during his father's campaign for mayor. I think one or more of them said something like "HD Rocks".

Earlier in this thread I think there are some links to a site that shows them.

(From Marc Berman's Friday, September 29, 2006, Programming Insider column at Mediaweek.com )

The arrival of Ugly Bettyhad a detrimental effect on NBC's My Name Is Earl (Overnights: 5.6/ 9; Viewers: 8.25 million (down from 8.38 million last week); A18-49: 3.4/10).

Why? I have dual tuners and I watch them both. They are both good, IMO.

Anyone notice how this episode wasn't really about marking someone/something off Earl's list? Unless this one was counted with helping out Joy from the first episode....

The producers have said that this year they're going to be getting away from "The List" being the prime plot mover every week. I guess they figure it's limiting their comedic plot possibilities, or something.

but isn't the premise of the show still about the list ? They still refer to it in the show introduction

Interesting...

I hope this doesn't have the opposite effect because "the List" is one of the things I thought made the show very unique and funny. I think he has something like 300 or so items so it would be a stretch to think they'd ever reach that many shows...

Sure, it's just that every episode will no longer involve Earl crossing something off the list (I'm sure there will still be a number of them that do just that). They want to branch out and explore other comedic possibilities without that built-in limitation.

One of the things I love about this show is how far they'll go to set up a bad pun. Look at how much it took to set up that "I won't jump for Joy." pun, it's classic.
