The Office on NBC - Season III - Page 5

excellent episode. i loved the ball part.

the other company has potential for some great storylines.

Well, this is the second episode in a row that hasn't really worked for me. Don't get me wrong, it had it's funny moments, but overall it wasn't very satisfying.

It seems like the characters are just going way over the top. The relatable aspects from the prior season are being thrown out for broad laughs. It's almost becoming more sitcomy, and less mockumentary. I hope things get back on track soon.

I can see what you mean. If they go any further in this direction the show will go into that "over the top" thing.

But I still liked it, tonight. Very good.

"What the hell are you doing?" "Is that the beak?"

LMAO

Did anyone else's affiliate mess with the HD signal from NBC? In Phoenix, the HD version was "picture-boxed", letterboxed, whatever, I guess it was both. I had to zoom in to limit the bars. I guess I hadn't seen this phenomenon before, so I was wondering if I was the only one.

Thanks,
Mike

I was ok with a 2 branch concept, but I really miss Jim/Dwight interactions.

Agreed - a few funny parts, but most of this episode seemed to be high on forgettable emotion.

Oh, and my wife is now annoyed Jim is starting to like another girl. I reminded her that Pam rejected him TWICE. Her response "He's giving up already???"

Ah, the female mind; endlessly fascinating....

I'm still waiting for a good episode this season. So far it's been pretty meh. I hope the writers haven't damaged the show with the romance and Jim's relocation to otherwhereville.

Come on now, the season premier was one of the funniest half hours I've ever watched on TV. I'll agree that the episodes since have been below par however.

By the way, what happened to Oscar? Boy you get outed once and you're kicked out of Scranton. What is that all about?
I thought it was funny all the way through. Part of the humor was waiting for Michael to turn everything/anything about him. When Ed Truck died, Michael thought "Old guys die. Good thing I'm not old like Creed." Then when the details of his death came out, Michael immediately thought, "Wait, I drive a convertable. That could have been my head!" Good thing that bird died otherwise he would have had to fake his own death.

The two second WTF look on the warehouse guys watching the bird funeral was priceless. I like how Jenna Fischer does the method-actiing trick of spinning her foot whenever a guy she's interested is around (she's done that three times on this show).

Jim continues to be the coolest guy on TV. I'd like to see Jack Bauer get potato chips for a girl he likes some time. He'd probably torture someone with a lamp cord and cause an international incident. "Where are the potato chips! You need to tell me NOW!"

I thought that Oscar got few free months of paid vacation to Europe and other incentives if he agreed not to sue the company.
Yes, Oscar got three months paid vacation to agree not to sue (and Michael didn't get fired???). Remember, accounting in Scranton has one more employee than they really need so they're not hurting.

I couldn't agree more Scowl, I think this season will end up being the best one yet.

This season has been extremely bizarre, and bordering on over-the-top, but it's still the funniest thing I watch each week.

Dwight's shoving the bird into the soda can ("my uncle was buried in a leftover oil drum") was one of those WTF moments, but still pretty funny.

So how do we get Jim back to Scranton? Perhaps the new office gets downsized after game playing leads to terrible production.
I'm still betting that the Stamford office will be merged with the Scranton office and the two casts will be under one roof. There was a merger in the British series.

I was thinking about getting one of these Dwight Schrute bobbleheads but I think I'll wait until they make a Dwight doll that crawls around on the floor like a baby drooling on itself begging not to be fired.

Just reading in Entertainment Weekly that Jenna Fischer auditioned for the role of Sydney in Alias. They said she was great with great range, but just "not hot enough".

Looking at the picture of Jenna in EW, I've never seen Jennifer Garner look even close to that hot.
I have trouble imagining Jenna Fischer being one tenth as intense as Jennifer Garner did. They really needed an actress who could look completely driven and physically capable (more or less) of doing the stuff Sydney was going to do i.e. make a joke just before the evil Asian guy started smashing the teeth out of her face. Garner went from looking terrified to "F*** you, little man!" in two seconds and I totally bought it.

Couldn't find any of the pictures you reference online at EW, only the article and a couple of publicity stills taken in her "Pam" role/outfit.
I didn't see the pic at EW, but no way I could see Jenna Fischer as Sydney. I like Fischer but she looks too mousey most of the time to pull off a role like Alias.
Good I hope she stays right where she is, I wouldn't want to lose our Pam!
Remember Pam in that shiny blue dress in "Casino Night"? Whoa. No wonder Jim poured his heart (and eyes) out.

And Roy took off early and left her there. What a retard!

I agree that JG was probably better at the intense stuff - but to say Jenna was not hot enough - as in not attractive enough - I don't buy it. At least not compared to JG.

Have you seen the Jenna Fischer pics from Jane Magazine? Do yourself a favor and google image search "jenna fischer jane". She is way hot.

Nah, that's pretty lame, man. She has a nice left side, I guess; "stratigically covered" would be an understatement. CP's 2 pics were actually better. Nothing to see here folks, move along...

"Hot" is a vague overused word. They're both hot in different ways. Who know what they really meant by it? I can't imagine how the Alias people could have found anyone better than JG for that role.
That doesn't even look like her in that first pic CP posted. Bizarre.

I thought tonight's episode was very good. It's nice to see the show get back on track after two misfires.

I wish our office had Pretzel Day.
