I guess Samsung is better then, after all--better design decisions and support.
Some of those manufacturers you listed used Sony's defectively designed optical blocks in their models and suffered the consequences. And Sony threatened legal action against those that sought to publicize longevity studies demonstrating the fundamentally flawed nature of Sony's technology--studies that Sony apparently failed to properly conduct before selling millions of these TVs. Knowing how Sony currently designs and manufactures their TVs makes it clear that they are now just another run-of-the-mill manufacturer that no longer justifies a premium price.Edited by splinke - 1/8/13 at 9:37am
