Twin View doesn't care what RF input you use. VHF/UHF, Cable, or both. This TV is capable of displaying 2 channels at the same time, from either input (2 cable, 2 VHF/UHF, or 1 of each). The fact that you can't get digital channels (nor HDMI nor Component nor VGA) on the right side is simply the way the TV is made.
A CableCard only defines your channel list and "rights" (encrypted channels), so there's no reason Twin View wouldn't work.
I know you realized all this by yourself, I'm just hoping to clarify for others.
