Boycott the show. Showtime is using pop ups in HD Movies and destroying their channel for this show.

Don't post info or contribute to any hype on it - that's the only way to get the message to Showtime that their pop ups for this show on HD Movies doesn't work.

Anyone who doesn't will contribute to SHO eventually looking like TNT-HD.

I'm really curious if it will be in HD. My DirecTV listing didn't say HDTV for it and I looked it up on Showtime's HD list and it wasn't on there... I was asking this in the Brotherhood thread and this was posted:

So there is hope, but stranger things have happened....

Did you cancel your 3 Showtime subs? If not, go away with your boycotts!

Cox OKC lists Dexter as being in HD, too.

I am not crazy about pop-ups, either, but Showtime does have some good stuff, so I'll rise above the pop-up irritation. Anyway, pop-ups beat cropping 2.35:1 movies to 1.85:1, which HBO does routinely. Further, Michael C. Hall, who plays the title character in Dexter, is really good, as he proved in the HBO series, Six Feet Under.

I watched the first episode on-line (legally!) a few days ago. I liked it, although I'll admit it creeped me out a bit. It looks to be 16:9 so I assume it's HD.

While I agree that mangled credits are a bad thing, especially on a premium channel, I think an email to Showtime will do more than boycotting this show. Premimum channel episodics are a good thing as they escape the influence of the letter writing campaigns from those portrayed in NBS's controversial skit in their new season of Studio60.

It's getting a definite season pass on my DVR.

Ditto. I thought the best line was from Dexter after he was almost seduced. "That was close".

Wow. That was excellent. It's not nearly as gross-out as Bones or House.

They didn't show it up close but he did start sawing into one guys face.

I think they want people to like the character and it might be hard if you see him in detail torturing people even if they deserve it.

Really, really good show! Some of the charactors need a bit of work but that's what the rest of the season is for.

Dexter was great. Very interesting. I will certianly keep watching. But what I think really got me excited last night was the trailer for SleeperCell. I hadn't seen that before. Just from the trailer, I'm really excited about the next run of this show. Tudor looked interesting as well.

The Tudors and Sleeper Cell (part 2) were both promoted last night. Hopefully FredFa will do his usual great job and give us the "scoop" on these two shows.

At the beginning I was wondering if it was HD or just widescreen SD, it looked a bit grainy.

Must have just been the dark scenes in the car, once they got out into the Miami sunshine it looked great.

Definately keeping the SP on the HD TiVo.

Showtime doesn't have a stellar record when it comes to renewing it's good shows though.

Dead Like Me and Huff spring to mind.
