On the other hand, the therapist probably will not live long enough for it to matter.

Yeah the doc won't last long enough to spill it...I'd imagine Dexter would deal with him then and there. But they've surprised me before.

Sorry, my post that you quoted was accidently deleted.

The other possibility is that he will give the bust to his sister.

I LOVE this show but agree abou the pop-ups. It's completely disrespectful to people who pay a premium for their content. Even the OTA networks don't do this on HD and they are FREE. Are they actually doing this during features too? Why would you pay to watch commercials during the broadcast? Isn't that the whole point of paying a monthy fee to begin with?

Rather than boycott I'd go to the sho.com site and make a complaint (which I did) then call your cable provider. if it did persist well, I'd probably cancel and get it off Netflix down the road.

point is, if nobody complains they will continue to push the envelope on this.

I am not crazy about pop-ups, either, but Showtime does have some good stuff, so I'll rise above the pop-up irritation. Anyway, pop-ups beat cropping 2.35:1 movies to 1.85:1, which HBO does routinely. Further, Michael C. Hall, who plays the title character in Dexter, is really good, as he proved in the HBO series, Six Feet Under.[/quote]

I agree. I have also sent a complaint to Showtime about this subject.

Let's make some noise on this issue.

I picked up on the Doc saying he wanted to put his mother back together but there weren't any pieces. So what did I do after he made that comment? I checked to see if he was eating a lozenge because Tucci said the ITK ate them constantly. I think that is probably the most unnoticed clue, yet may be the one that makes us all go, "Oh yeah...." With that being said I did not notice him eating a lozenge.

Would Dexter kill OJ? OJ lives very close to Miami...

No because above all his father taught him the importance of keeping a low profile. A nice thought though

Man, I can't believe they revealed who the Ice Truck Killer is so early, and it was such the obvious choice.

No spoilers please...

Two more hours on the west coast.

once it airs (in any time zone), it's open season. Best to stay away from the thread until you've seen it. That's what I do when I can't watch it right away.

Exactly, the spoiler rules are the same in the LOST thread too. It was a great episode too and I loved when he told the psychiatrist what he really was.

Dexter is a sick puppy..."I can't kill the Doctor yet, I need another session" :-)

I watched last night's episode immediately after I had finished reading both of the Dexter novels, by Jeff Lindsay. I LOVED the books but the series is even better! The main characters, Dexter, his sister, the lieutenant, and Detective Stokes are much more fully realized in the series than they were in the books and the story line is changed in some significant ways, arguably for the better. I laughed until I cried at the exchange of message board posts between Dexter and the Ice Truck Killer. Great stuff! Dexter has become the high point of my TV week.

By the way, unrealistic whining about spoilers makes me tired, too. Color me unsympathetic.

Don't worry, there's a lot more yet to reveal about the ITK.
I just want to chip in that I love this show.

To me it is without a doubt the best new show to premiere this season on television. I'm glad they revealed who the ITK is because it was something we all had kinda figured out and it would have been a disapointment if that was the big reveal in the season finale. It's better that we know who it is and we have two episodes to see it all play out.

Great show!

You are the second one today to say that we "all" had it figured out. I guess I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff. If it hadn't been for previous posts in this forum, I never would have suspected this guy. When he was introduced a few weeks back, he seemed to be a minor player. Granted, he seemed a bit creepy.

Last week, until the last part of the show, I was convinced that they had already caught the right guy. Remember when the sister told Dexter, "I chased him!" (or something like that)? Well, last night she actually slept with the ITK! What a hoot.

I was indifferent to this show until last week. Last night's show made it my current favorite on TV.

LOL ITK has it going on, intelligent, accomplished Doctor, giver of orgasms. If it weren't for that whole 'serial killer' thing...he'd be a good catch for her lol.

No reason ITK and Dexter can't work things out. Imagine the two of them competing to carve the turkey when the family sits down to Thanksgiving Dinner.

I don't think the guy is a doctor. I believe he is a prosthetics technician.

Yup, every week there is one line that makes me fall off the couch laughing.

I liked the exploration of the power/powerless aspect in Dexter's sessions, where he is lulled into feeling powerless enough to let go and accept himself which, of course, turns the tables and the doc is now the powerless one. And yet Dexter knows he is powerless over his urges to kill, which take a great deal of control (power) to manage. Some great irony here.

The little glimpse into the "crime scene" that Dexter was taken from as a young boy was a terrific tease. And I definitely agree that the timing is right to learn the identity of the ITK. This show is too well written to have that plot point be the finale. Now the games can really begin ("we'll soon be sharing a cold one"....).

And I thought Dexter couldn't get any better...Incredible episode.
The pop-ups did not bother me. I am sorry they made the ITK such an obvious choice. I would have like it if he was a complete stranger. It does bring up an interesting question though did he date the sister to get to Dexter or did he discover Dexter after dating the sister.
He was "playing" with Dexter before he started dating the sister.

Yeah, I noticed that. It was very brief during a flashback. Has that been shown before? I had to skip back and watch it again. I guess that is how Dexter became an orphan, and probably explains his behavior. Too bad he killed the psychiatrist, we could delve into this a bit deeper.

That was the first they'd shown of it...the doc forced him to delve into his thoughts/feelings of control and that was underneath it all. Poor kid.

Poor sister. She's a homicide detective and doesn't have a clue that her boyfriend and her brother are serial killers

It's funny how NOONE has a clue about them...in Dexter's case the only one who has an inkling is Doakes...and there's probably a reason why.

They are what's referred to as organized killers. They don't act randomly and are very controlled. They are therefore very hard to spot and to catch.

LOL. Good one. Best episode yet. Great new series. I don't mind the pop-ups but only b/c I loved Sleeper Cell and eagerly await its return.
