I think Deb's descent into criminality in order to protect Dexter has been fascinating. Creepy but fascinating. It's a patented Dexter twist. I really worry about Deb because her love for Dexter has convinced her to abandon her morality. There's no telling where that will take her but wherever it is it can't be a good place.
Dexter, of course, is still Dexter: a brilliant and devious serial killer. I have been surprised that Dexter's turning away from Harry's Code in order to coverup his crimes should surprise anyone. At his core, Dexter has always been a sociopath, no matter how he has tried to make himself believe that he is not.
I thought this season of Dexter was as outstanding as last season was disappointing.
Agreed.
However, in all due respect, keep your stinkin' paws off MY Hannah!tongue.gif

Seriously though, this has been one of the very best seasons of the show and looks like there was a real decision to end the show on a bang (excuse the bad pun).
I can hardly wait for S8.

BTW, for those interested, I stumbled upon an interview with "Maria LaGuerta."

So next year we can look forward to Lumen, Hannah, Jamie and Deb in a steel cage pillow fight all vying for dexter's love. Brilliant series finale.wink.gif

You guys drooling over darling Yvonne...cut it out. I had a dream the other night where I was leaving my wife. I walked into another room and there she was (Yvonne) sitting on a couch (who can tell if it's mine, it was in a dream). Anyway, she says "Is there anything wrong?". I say no, so she jumps into my arms, wraps her legs around my waist, a big kiss...then I wake up. Of course I feel slightly dirty, as she's between the age of my two sons...then again, she seemed to be onboard biggrin.gif.

Wow, you guys have it bad for Yvonne. smile.gif

Can't wait for season 8!

Gaping plotholes, characters acting differently than they had in the past, doing things that didn't make sense...in the end it didn't make any difference. One of the most satisfying seasons yet Great acting covers a multitude of sins, I guess.

Other than you need to keep out of MY dreams.
Ron, you're better than that.....biggrin.gif

Agreed one of the best Seasons of Dexter. Last year I remember thinking ahead like let's get to Season 7 and 8. This year I didn't want it to end.

Thanks for the link! It was very interesting. In her interview, Lauren Velez, who played LaGuerta, said many of the things we have been discussing here. Like you, I am really looking forward to Season 8.

The last season was very good and, once again, Dexter was very much "much watch appointment television" for my family. My daughter had watched Dexter in the summer and watched the new shows with my wife. I do think the last two shows were kind of connect the dots -- get to the end kind of shows but, overall, it didn't detract too much from a quality season.

Oh, and btw, Jamie for me.

I watched the video of her on the talk show...some funny moments.

Great interview, nice still pictures also!

Somebody needs to organize this thing and correlate age to desire. I'm 57, and Jamie is like a cute kid, but Hannah is, well, Hannah. She makes me feel like slow moving lava - persistent, inevitable and all-consuming.

I'm watching The Sopranos for the first time, in the first season of HBO's current rerun set. I don't know if people remember specific episodes well, but one of the two I watched last night had a scene where Junior puts a pie in the face of his girlfriend.

I guess that's all I need to say, except that Hannah telling me I had an "instinct" would probably get me a life sentence at the funny farm. Just sit in the corner and repeat, "Hannah says I got an instinct ..." I'm pretty sure I couldn't function in normal society after that.

Sweet dreams Ron.

Ok...this is the 2nd time. I click once on submit and it generates 3 duplicates. I delete 2 of them and now it won't give me permission to delete the last dup. Is anyone else experiencing this wonky forum interface in the same way?

And why the heck does it do that? I made the last two posts in exactly the same way. One time it does it, one time it doesn't.

Or you could just post within the quote you are trying to quote and reply to ;-) Ive had the double post thing happen to me a few times, something to do with the new interface they are using, only happens via web browser though and never when I am in my IPad.....

It would seem to me that the kill room Laguerta found in episode 7x11 would have been the biggest piece of evidence that the BHB is still out there. So why didn't she present it? That, along with the fact that killers have continued to go missing after Doakes' death should be enough to, at the very least, raise some eyebrows. Miami Metro really is the most incompetent police force on tv.

Was the "kill room" ever a piece of evidence in the BHB case? I thought all they had to go on was that the bodies were wrapped in the visqueen. Did they ever discover a room completely covered in it?

Belief really is getting stretched in this show. Couple that with Miami Metro investigating one of its own. No conflict of interest there.

LaGuerta was investigating Dexter off the books....it wasn't an "official investigation."

Uh, she arrested Dexter. Even if she was investigating him later off the books, that isn't or shouldn't be done.

She's Police & he's not. Jurisdiction looks simple here, but I could be wrong.

That is correct, she did arrest him, but any evidence she gathered would not be able to be used, since it was "off the books" she as trying to get him to confess, thus allowing her to "add" her evidence after the fact.....She didnt ahve any evidence that she could actually arrest him on and it was all for show, which is why when he didnt confess he was let go so quickly......On top of investigating an employess of Miami Metro, she was taking the lead on a case where she was romantically linked to the victim, which should be automatic dismisal from the case....

To arrest someone for murder is SERIOUS business.
After the charges were dropped, I believe in the real world she would have been suspended immediately and put up for review for possible dismissal.

In real life there would be a bunch of lawyers, or IA or DA or all the above standing around & no one would get anything done for months.

Happy Hdays everyone!!

oink, careful with that bushie eggnog you like so much wink.gif

Okay I just got to sit down and watch the last episode for the season.

I'm annoyed. Yes it's been a great season but I am totally against the this path. Dexter is nothing but a self-serving ass. Protect himself and funk everyone else including Deb. He should have never allowed her down this path. No matter what happens now she is a murderer. No matter how the series ends her life is over. A prisoner in her own mind.

I guess we are being set-up for them to run. Fine. Not how I would like to see it end. I could have lived with this final scene as the series finale but where Deb takes Dexter out. Out of his pain once and for all. The way it should end.....

Not a last scene with them sipping a drinkie in Brazil. Series over. That's a cheap out. Dex should go down-permanently. Deb didn't need to go down this road IMO. Sucks..

At this point, we don't know how it will end...

FWIW, my guess is the only person left standing will be Harrison.
