Would be a fantastic storyline too.

It seems Vogel see's Dexter as a necessary evil.

Yep she basically said you can't kill me because I don't fit Harry's code. How else would she know about it if she wasn't involved in coming up with it or something along those lines.

If that's the case, then secrets were amazingly kept.eek.gif

True, but it is hard to believe Harry would have trusted someone with the knowledge to send Dex to the chair.

Maybe there is a deeper story with her? Maybe Harry had an thing going on before his death? If it was bring in someone that can help or lose all control he may have also just been forced to seek help.

Another vibe I got and this is probably just my mind running wild but the way Vogel talked about the rouge patient she believes to be behind this maybe she is some kind of serial killer puppet master and Dex is one of her first students.

Indeed. She also had possession, presumably for all this time, of pictures Dexter apparently drew as a child.

Spaced that but true no way she has those unless Harry gave them to her.

I'm also wondering if she has connections to this season's serial killer. She talks of having a clinical interest in serial killers, and it seems this person does too, since he scooped out the part of the brain dealing with empathy.

Interesting thought.

It does seem that the majority of people think she used to be in Harry's life.

Edit: I wonder what dad thinks of this season premier biggrin.gif
I think he's usually a few days behind due to his schedule?

IDK if this was used before but Quinn should be known as Manequinn, with only one face expression.. LOL

Dexter (the show) does like to throw out these little red herrings, but hopefully the Skull Cutting Brain Melon Empathy Ball Killer isn't going to be a diminutive 67-year-old woman. She doesn't seem physically strong enough to perform such acts.

I would guess that she sees/fears/knows that the recent killing fits the profile of someone she has treated or profiled in the past, and hopefully she's genuinely interested in helping them catch that person. A little convenient, though, that she was also obviously involved in Harry's efforts to counsel young Dexter, with Harry's Code apparently being Evelyn's Code.

Kind of weird to see Matthews around again, but I guess he's still finishing off the time he needed in order to get his next bump in his pension, which he finagled out of LaGuerta last season.

After Deb called in that Briggs was dead but she had a lead on finding the jewels, there was a guy watching her from a car. I assumed it was the killer and he has his eye on Deb. If not, who is he? I'm pretty sure Vogel is connected to the killer and also suspect Matthews knows more about what is going on then he's saying. Plus if I was Dex I would be very worried about Angel.

The guy watching Deb was El Sapo the mob hitman. It looked like he was there to Biggs and will now think Deb had something to do with it so he will assume she has a ahead on the jewels.

I was thinking more lab rat than puppet. Harry's motivations are what they have seemed to be, but he needed help, and she provided it, for her own purpose - to create the "perfect" serial killer. She's been studying him ever since.

She probably should have been studying Deb - she's got more psycho-drama than 10 "crazy" people.

Lab rat is a good term that is more how I meant it.

Didn't she say in the trailer that she needed Dexter's help with one of her ex-patients (perhaps not the exact term she used)?

Well, its obvious once you said it smile.gif Thanks, I totally missed that. And of course she does have a possible lead on the jewels, which means she's in danger...which means she may find out once again that having a serial killer brother can come in handy...although I'd rather it didn't play out that way.

Ehh she is probably Deb and Dexter's biological mother. Perhaps she will "save him" in the truth or in death.

Deb the junkie is not pretty. Love the show but it has ran its course but I do admit the scene of Dex hacking her computer was classic!

Password: Password. Ehhh no.
Password: ****ing Password. Ding ding ding biggrin.gif

Right ... Although I might use the term "lab rat" instead of "student." I might even go farther and suggest that Vogel is a psychopath herself ...

... Oops ... fjames beat me to it.

It was already established they had different mommas.

The Vogel is a psychopath is definitely how I felt.

Ah, Ms Rampling - She captured me with her few moments in Angel Heart - I missed the early roles

NYT quote

"Ms. Rampling, now 65, belongs to the short list of cult movie actresses whose combination of exotic beauty, intelligence and fierce independence lends them a particular erotic mystique. Along with Jeanne Moreau and Isabelle Huppert, she is a screen personality whose smoldering characters project an imperial confidence tinged with disdain. Those catlike eyes, lowered in a seemingly seductive gaze in tandem with a Mona Lisa smirk, send the same danger signals associated with Ms. Rampling’s Hollywood prototype, Lauren Bacall. Both also have deep voices that convey an ominous authority"

The doc on her titled "The Look" is interesting and just as frustrating if you think
there's anything to learn about Her.

Small part in Spy Game & Larger role in Immortal are 2 that come to mind.
She was off the radar in the US most of her career.

Someone needs to check them self into Anger Management. LOL... :cringe:

Quinn, still being a moronic douche.

Great Premiere. Awkward, annoying, and cringe inducing fun.

At first I thought Dexter was having a day dream of sorts of how he'd react. I think she's just like Dexter, that is the only way it would explain her knowing about Harry IMO.
Regarding Vogel...it's pretty obvious to me, since she worked with Miami Metro in years past, that Harry contacted her with his concerns about Dexter as a child and they worked out the code together. It looks like she's recruiting Dexter to help her with this latest serial killer....and...since she knows what's up with Dex and how he was directed by she and Harry, that she's totally on board with having a trained psycho take out trash psychos. One can always use that club in your golf bag when you need to get out of the rough.
