Dexter on SHO - Page 210

Thought this week's Dexter was another good show. Loved the scene with Zach on the table in Dexter's kill room, although it did require me to use more than my usual level of willingness to suspend disbelief. It does look as if Dexter is now going to go along with Vogel's program and teach Zach Harry's Code. I was really happy to see Hannah again. She is my favorite serial killer, next to Dexter of course. Deb really does seem to be getting her mojo back, which is a good thing. As much of a self destructive doofus as Quinn can be, I felt sorry for him when Batista passed him over for sergeant. I admired Quinn for the way he handled his disappointment. If he was sincere, maybe it's a sign he is finally growing up.

With Deb back on her game, Hannah back in the picture, and the developing Zach thread, I am looking forward to the second half of the season.

Since we are all speculating, Hannah eventually kills Vogel for Dexter and runs away with Dexter. Deb ends up using and teaching the kid in her new line of work.

As long as SOMEONE kills Vogel, I'll be happy.biggrin.gif

I thought Sundays episode was the best of the season so far .. they packed a lot of story into that hour .. Hannahs back, Dex and Deb on the mend, Quinns pass over on the promotion, more story on our budding killer Zach, Batistas struggle with promotion management, Masuka/Daughter bit (she said something about her debts soon to be paid, wonder what that's all about .. ??) .. Debs "undercover" work .. and BTW, It seems to me her boss is quite smitten with her .. Debs new love interest .. ??

Yeah, I think so.wink.gif

yeah it seems it will be a big showdown between Dexter, Hannah, Deb and Vogel, they kid will be crazy killing and Dexter will have to end him.

Masuka's stuff seems to be playing for the spinoff (I'll watch it if Masuka stars)

I can't recall, Did Hannah poison Deb before she crashed her car last season? If so, I don't see him running off with her. He can't trust her.

So much happens in this show it is hard to remember.

Yes.

Coaching the kid is a terribly stupid Dex move. He does them every season. This maybe his downfall.

I think it's more Vogel's idea than his.

The twisted surrogate mommie thing is wearing thin. Perhaps it's just me.

Gotta agree.
I find it a little difficult to believe Dex and Deb would trust ANYTHING she has to say at this point.
Her sudden appearance in their lives should have set off alarms and bells.
OTOH, both Dex and Deb have been going off the rails psychologically for some time now....

The scenes between Dex and Deb were about as good as it gets. Both Carpenter and Hall are acting their butts off, and the chemistry between them is thick enough to cut with a knife.

I couldn't agree more.

Kudos to both for giving it their all in the final season.
The series really put the both of them on the map....so to speak.wink.gif

Every season Dexter naively questions his code or himself when he starts to make another connection. Every year he bumbles along with blinders on for a few eps, then realization, then a killing. Hannah is the only one who didn't get resolved. Now he's got Vogel, the kid and Hannah coming back with a new mini-bigbad...probably the BS. He'll resolve most of them, if not all with a little help, but one of them is going to put an end to the series.

Can't argue.....wink.gif

It would be really lousy if the writers decided to let a new character (or even Hannah, because she's not a worth foe IMO) become Dexter's demise. If he indeed gets caught or killed in this final season it should be by Debra or Batista. A Dexter suicide would also be acceptable. The more the season progresses the more I think Dexter will sacrifice himself to save Debra (or his son). A general theme thus far has been Dexter doesn't display the "typical psychopathic behavior," so a sacrificial scenario would be a good way to prove that while at the same time leaving us with at least one redeeming quality for the world's most watched serial killer. smile.gif

Totally agree. It has to be a core figure, someone thats been there from the beginning that leads to his demise.

Why did Zach do that? She was so pretty frown.gif

Wonder what Deb is doing. Guessing she wants to kill Hannah.

Masuka at the topless bar was grand. Boobies biggrin.gif

No doubt.
Whoever kills who first, either Deb or Hannah are going on the lam with Dex.

More evidence of a spin-off IMO.
Well Masuka's daughter wasn't that well endowed to work at that bar, but oh well they need material for the spinoff LOL

I would have liked to see how Zach killed Dexter's neighbor.

Deb will relentlessly pursue Hannah until she kills her, that could turn bad soon.

Liked this episode a lot.

Was surprised Hannah's husband died so quickly.

What's the chance that the final scene mirrors last year with Dex having to choose to kill Deb or Hannah and chooses to save Hannah?

Some Thoughts ..:
When Dexter got " Beat Up ", my 1st thought was that it could be men hired by Hannah, she manipulated Dexter into believing her husband was behind it, to solidify Dexter's help in killing her husband..
Probably not the case after seeing him attack Hannah, but it's still remotely possible they were her thugs ...

I still wonder if Masuka's daughter has some 'angle, or simply what we see is what we get ... She seems too "eager" to call him Dad, seek him out, hang around, etc ..

I hope they get rid of the junior killer kid soon ....

It was so weird, Dexter asked for a saw or something to cut bone, but at the end we saw he tossed the body whole, not in pieces

(sorry for wrong thread)

This was the first episode this season I didn't fully enjoy, and the Zack plotline is a major reason why. It seems forced and clumsy, with Dex acting out of character in order to advance the story. Yeah, I know, its supposed to add insight into the formation of our hero into a successful serial killer, but its just not as clever as the writers seem to think it is. And then there is the whole Hannah and her husband thing-could that have been any more cliched? In an otherwise brilliant season, there have been only two missteps, and this episode focosed on both of them. I'm hoping for a twist that will redeem both plotlines but going by past experience I have my doubts. This show can be so smart, and then suddenly so stupid, its hard to guess which way its going to go.

I was immediately thinking Double Indemnity or Body Heat but since Hannah killed Miles, I guess something as fun as that is out.

First thought was certainly Julian Sands (Miles) thugs, but if the show were really clever, then yes - Hanna!
Certainly made it convenient for her to have Dex save the day. She could have just taken the abuse one more
time and plotted her way out. Deb is correct. One look at the Blond Hair and he's Dumb.

So much for Mr. Sands. Looking forward to his appearance this season. 4 scenes and OUT!

The writing has had Dexter out of character to advance the plot for years now! rolleyes.gif
