Dexter on SHO - Page 215

Well, its more like Dexter's stupid fixation on taking care of Oliver even though everyone is telling him that's stupid. Reminds me of Rob cutting off Karstark's head even though it was ridiculous.

True.

Both characters had their judgment clouded by a female....it never ends.biggrin.gif

True. Though to Dexter's credit, his female is absolutely gorgeous; much better than the other one everyone is gushing over (Jamie). Women will always cause men to act irrationally, but we make our own decisions, and Dexter's pipe dream of escaping with Hannah might be his demise. Either that or his need to kill Oliver, which seems to be taking the number 1 spot as far as his desires go right now (even over Hannah and her advice to let it go). Three more episodes left...frown.gif

Thank you for mentioning avclub. I had never been to that site, but checked it out after you mentioned it. It was so refreshing to see harsh reviews of this season of Dexter. I was so confused by all the love on this thread and other recaps.
Now i know i'm not crazy (or a pyschopath) for thinking it's awful.
For those that are still enjoying the show, that's great. I can't make it through without being completely bored and getting distracted by something else.

Yes she was, not the thing to wear if you are trying to lay low and evade a federal marshal but I'll allow it!

Seriously do you guys have wives or girlfriends? I am kinda getting tired of the gushing over "Hannah"! She's pretty, but there are women (not actors with an half hour of make up applied to get to that point) out there that make her look average. wink.gif

Yeah, I do. That doesn't mean that I went blind when I recited my vows. Hannah is special, although my wife says that, with my screen and system, you can make out the blemishes....

If you liked last week's review, check out this week's. He gave this one a D, which is worse than the D+ from last week. It's been a downward spiral ever since the season premiere, which I actually thought was awesome and going to be a great start to the final season. At this rate, the season finale will be an F.

Last night's episode is head-scratchingly stupid. Looks like some of the people here were right in calling the boyfriend as the B.S., but then why has he only had 6 minutes of screentime? There was way more suspense with Trinity in season 4, and we friggin saw him straight up kill a girl in the cold open to the season 4 premiere!!!

I noticed that too.
Should go to a dermatologist for some skin peels and antibiotics.

They're trying everything possible to throw us off balance with misdirection.

Hard to argue against many points at AV. As for the B.S. non surprise (for me) and "Mom" ...
well, you can't have Lithgow, so no need to compare.

If the season continues as is, it's no slight on the series as a whole. Many will agree.
The actors are there and the writing is SOS as noted. Feels like we'll get 2 episodes
of what should have started mid season if they were invested.

I think the only series that stands a chance of making this type of distance with quality
is GOT, but that's yet to be known wink.gif

I think Hannah is in on it too but with all the misdirection it's hard to tell for sure. Don't really like the BS being Vogel's kid if that is in fact what is transpiring. It feels like a last minute rewrite.

It feels to me like the season was written without "Final Season" in mind and they might just tack an ending onto "just another season". It sure feels like they are dragging out an otherwise short story line.

LOL ... well all I can say is that it quite amusing to take two or three weeks off from this thread, catch up on the backlog of episodes on the DVR and then read through all the various "theories" presented here. wink.gif

I admit I don't have a clue as to how the series will end, but it is fun to speculate.wink.gif

So many were right Vogel was the brain surgeon (First name Daniel of course)

I bet his mother warn him about Dexter going to the diner beforehand, oh man they are playing him nicely

I have to agree with the AVClub's reviews. But I am very invested in the characters and want to see how it goes. This is definitely not good television but it is keeping me entertained despite my gripes at the fact that the writers are really phoning it in. But the bar has been lowered for a long time with this show.

Showtime isn't shy about asking name guest actresses to do nudity on their various shows. They probably tried and she probably said no.

I think that's it, she balked and they accommodated her wishes. In fact, they brought in a female director for each of the episodes in which she had a sex scene. Reportedly, they've never done that for any of the other actresses on the series.

She's had the problem all throughout her previous series too. Yvonne is supposed to be quite the tomboy so maybe she doesn't care about it enough to look for more permanent or thorough solutions? For example, I remember her saying that she only learned to walk in high heels and wear makeup since coming to the USA. And her fingernails were downright filthy in some of the Chuck episodes. eek.gif

Yes some of her close ups on Chuck were downright cruel as they showed just how bad her skin was in places. Just so much make up can do.

Wow, that's very unusual for an Aussie to be prudish.

She better care, she's a professional actress.

She can get it fixed, if she wants to.

Blame it on my age and relatively low standards, but I think Yvonne looks pretty damn good anyway.

I read this week's avclub review before watching the episode. It actually made it pretty fun and enjoyable knowing the awfulness to come. I was laughing thinking of the review's author watching the hannah/debra dinner scene.

3...more...episodes.
