They are looking amazing. Hey if anyone can help. I need a good pic of the treasure room in the ride at Disneyland. It seems like a very hard place to photograph. I can only find one and when I print it out it doesn't look to good. This is the only pic I can find:

Ya sure. We bought them from a local door company (Sunroc). They charged us $75 a door and only $25 to hang it in an alder frame. So with everything total was around $180-200? Killer price for a solid wood door! I think anyway.

Thanks. I need to find a good color for the rest of the walls. I am thinking a dark natural kind of color. I think I am going to do a very rough texture to the walls as well. TO help kind of create an old outdoor kind of feel.

A pirate walks into a bar wearing a paper towel on his head. He sits down at the bar and orders some dirty rum.

The bartender asks, "Why are you wearing a paper towel?"

"Arrr..." says the pirate. "I've got a bounty on me head!"

Long ago, when sailing ships ruled the waves, a captain and his crew were in danger of being boarded by a pirate ship. As the crew became frantic, the captain bellowed to his First Mate, "Bring me my red shirt!". The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt, which the captain put on and lead the crew to battle the pirate boarding party. Although some casualties occurred among the crew, the pirates were repelled.

Later that day, the lookout screamed that there were two pirate vessels sending boarding parties. The crew cowered in fear, but the captain calm as ever bellowed, "Bring me my red shirt!". The battle was on, and once again the Captain and his crew repelled both boarding parties, although this time more casualties occurred.

Weary from the battles, the men sat around on deck that night recounting the day's occurrences when an ensign looked to the Captain and asked, "Sir, why did you call for your red shirt before the battle?". The Captain, giving the ensign a look that only a captain can give, exhorted, "If I am wounded in battle, the red shirt does not show the wound and thus, you men will continue to fight unafraid". The men sat in silence marveling at the courage of such a man.

As dawn came the next morning, the lookout screamed that there were pirate ships, 10 of them, all with boarding parties on their way. The men became silent and looked to their Captain for his usual command. The Captain, calm as ever, bellowed, "Bring me my brown pants!!

Target has a bunch of Pirates of the Carribean stuff. I saw it today while browsing.
This is just what was on the online store. There was much more in-store. I saw three different lamps. One of them is the same skull with bandana as you have on the wall painted. Really neat lamp.(not pictured here)

^^^Hey thanks for the heads up! We ran down to our local target. There wasn't too much there. The stuff had already been looked through quite a bit, but we did end up with one of these:

not quite sure where this will go but hey
I think I will switch out the light that came with it and put in a flicker bulb to add a little extra to the effect.

You know what might be fun for when you have visitors seeing it for first time - have a loop of an echo'y "Dead Men Tell No Tales" and a few wisp from a smoke machine.

Can't wait to see more progress on the room.

Cheers,
Mark

We were in Orlando in August and I went through the new PoTC ride, I didn't like it as much as the old one, but my wife was able to score the full 'Ride Soundtrack' from the old ride on CD.

It has every audio track from every part of the old ride, plus several of the recording sessions uncut. It's extremely cool. I couldn't find it at the PoTC ride store, but my wife found it near the entrance.

Let me know if you need any more information on it.

Hello,

I have been watching your theater design and I am leaning toward the same type arches along the side walls. I thing I am wondering, is how the stage and is tying into the saide wall. I saw you arch is ending where the stage is coming out. Do you have any more pics showing the stage and the walls together?

Also It looks like you have outlets in all the arches. What are those for??

Thanks and keep the pics coming
Chris

^^I will get a pic of that up for you. Basically the sides of the stage start right at the side of the arch. The outlets are going to have small emergency/night lights that will go turn on in the event of a power outage. It would be pitch black if the we lose power. I put them on the side of the arches so that when you are looking towards the front of the theater you can't see the outlets. You only will notice them if you are at the front looking towards the back of the theater. I hope that makes sense

I saw some of these in a store at the Charlotte Mall a year or two ago. They were the swinging pirates that are on the ropes. Very cool, especially if you want to add a much more immersive theme to your room.

I posted this in another thread, may work in your Pirate Room. I was in a pet shop and they had this on clearance table. It is meant to go into a fish tank, but would also look good on a shelf. I have a fish tank in my theatre built into wall with port holes. The statues are about 7" tall and are of Cpt. Jack and Davey Jones.

I really like your port holes!! I have a fish tank and was thinking about putting it down in the lobby area. I may have to see if I can find a spot for some port holes How big is your tank? Is it just one tank between the two port holes? Thanks again for the idea!!!

Thanks, and you're welcome. It is one 20 gal. tank behind the port holes. The port holes are about 11" in dia....with the hole being about 8" in dia. I found the port hole in a brass shop that had lots of nautical items. They are actually mirrors and I just removed the mirror. Oh, your theater is looking great by the way....keep the pictures coming.
