30 Rock in HDTV on NBC! - Page 35

30 Rock is getting walloped right now in the ratings. The ratings actually go from the 1.6 for 30 Rock to a 2.0 for Parks and Recreation (good news for that show). Really, really bad timeslot for a sophisticated comedy. This might very well be the last season for 30 Rock, even on lowly NBC.

8:00 on NBC, where great shows go to die.

As for the episode, I like how they wrote an episode around Tracy Morgan's real life issue with gays. Calling the Glad Bag company to apologize was a nice touch.

back to back weeks that Jenna had the best line

I started watching this show late in its run, so if the end is near I'm glad that I'll be able to go back and watch a lot of the episodes that I haven't seen yet (hopefully on Blu-ray).

i know nothing about scheduling tv programming, but i bet i could do a better
job than the nimrods at nbc.

isn't the office their highest rated show on thursdays?

why not lead off with the office at 8:00, then p & r, then 30 rock, then up all
night. be nice if they could find a way to bring community back.

i'd bet that would improve the ratings for all their thursday sitcoms.

If you have Netflix streaming, every episode should be on there. For me the show became brilliant at the poker episode in season 1.

Two new episodes next week. One at 8:00 and one at 9:00.

To be honest 30 Rock has run its course. How many more times can they play out what hat Frank is going to wear, Liz's pathetic love life, Tracy going insane, Jenna being Jenna, and so on and so forth? I really hope this is the last season.

With that reasoning I can't really think of too many sitcoms that hadn't run their course after 3, 4, or especially 6 seasons. I thought this latest episode was a bit of a dud after a brilliant season opener.

The check Jack wrote to Liz's boyfriend had me rolling.

Memo "I used your bathroom"

I agree. I still like this show, but I have a feeling it may be nearing its end.

I didn't watch the second of tonight's eps yet, but the first one, "Idiots are people three" was fantastic. More laughs in the first half of the show than the first two eps of the season put together. Tina Fey is also looking healthier with each ep.

I actually forgot 30 Rock was on at 7 PM tonight. Enjoyed the second episode. I completely forgot about was going to be in the episode.

Was I supposed to know who that strange looking woman with Tracy was?

Denise Richards, they used her name in last week's ep.

If you're older then 30, yes.

Denise Richards, former model, former wife of Charlie Sheen

Ah. And the Charlie Sheen connection is why she's an "idiot?"

She has gained a reputation for having a mouth quicker than her brain by saying things that she doesn't realize are jokes until people laugh after she says them. She demonstrated this on her reality show.

She had two hilarious bits last night. The first was when she talked about her playing a "nucular" physicist in Golden Eye and the second and best one was when she was in the elevator in a cold panic because "this room is moving".

It was even better, she said she was a "nucular psychiatrist" in a James "Bong" (pronounced with a hard G) movie.

To her credit, back when The World is Not Enough was out I read a review that mocked her as mispronouncing "nuclear" in that movie, which she does NOT do.

I liked the first episode a lot, but the second one was even better. Especially when Jack points out how famous Jenna has become, "not unlike Whitney's Maulik Pancholy."

For those that don't know, that's the actor that used to play Baldwin's secretary.
Dennis Richards was in the world is not enough not Goldeneye.

She has always looked like her face is primarily man-made and this has become more evident as she's aged. Charlie didn't do that to her.

I think I know why it is getting walloped, my media center PC did not record the first two episodes of the season because it wasn't marked as new in the guide and if I did not set it two record this weeks episodes I would of missed those as well.

Am I the only person who thought the Kelsey Grammer scenes were, at best, a big waste of time?

I think Kelsey was offered, and eagerly accepted, a broad comedy walk-on role, for which he's best known, to take the edge off what he's doing in his Emmy nominated 'Boss' series - slightly against type, to say the least. Actors, especially method actors like Grammer, have been known to take their work home with them. This might be therapy.
