I find it strange that Sharp is letting the flagship 65" become more of an antique panel day to day when compared to all the new competition. A year later both it's spec's and it's looks are rather dated and fall well short of the competition of it's own smaller siblings and PDP. Perhaps the Titanium works for a golf club but on my TV? Yuck - My Sharp is piano black and a great looking TV on/off but contemplating that titanium monster in my viewing room I find to be an ugly duckling comparatively to most of the new lines including Sharps D62's.
The 65" has become a rather dated ugly looking panel when comparing it to the likes of Samsung, Sony XBR3 and Pioneer and while they've cut the MSRP's in half would people really spend $10K to have inferior performance and an outdated panel in their living room with poor black levels when it's 52" (without banding) can blow away the 65"? As Samsung most certainly will be touting it's 70" production model at CES Sharp needs to get their act together on the flag ship panel and not some idiotic 100"+ garbage none of will ever see or afford.
65" with Mega Contrast, Micronas TruD, 120 Hz in BLACK now that's a keeper bring it on and to hell with SED! Same holds true with the 57" especially when they charge about ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS per inch
to go from a 52" to a 57" Come on Sharp how could 5" of glass or electronics justify $1K per inch? That's at reduced MSRP.
