Acoustic treatments will help with bass room modes and position flexibility also helps get the most out of them. The Fathoms are great subs and that kick in the chest feeling comes from frequencies where they have a good amount of output.
The only thing you can do is try it and see if they give you what you want. I have found that bass is something that once you have a good amount, you want more. For me, that journey included 20 or so subs over a few years and with a dedicated HT space, I wasn't restricted by WAF or aesthetic factors other than my own
