I tend to stay away from making sub recommendations as it will always start a lot of 'Get this instead, it's better or cheaper' posts.

What I did was ran speaker wire from the rear surrounds connection on back of the receiver and they went to the high level of my SC2. Than ran another speaker wire from the low level of my subwoofer and connecting to my Mythos Gem. Sorry if that sounded a little confusing I almost confused my self trying to type it....lol. And this is what I did for both rear channels SC2 to each mythos which than calibrated them at fullband than changed the crossovers to 40 Hz. Other wise my Mythos were my weakest link in my system and they would always calibrate at 120 or 150 Hz

The low level outputs are RCA connectors and should use coax cable, not speaker wire. I have an endless honey-do list to complete, so post this in your own thread and others can straighten this out with you. People with similar setups as yours should also chime in.

I'm sure that it would improve your system. Whether you need it or not is sort of up to you. As you probably know, SV Sound has a 45-day return policy.

Thanks pepar,

I got the 2nd sub on Friday and man...do I love it. My wife named them Zeus and Poseidon.

I will likely give the AS-EQ1 a try, if it gets better than it is now, it will be crazy but as you can see below, I have a difficult room and the distance from the LP is about 4 ft off.

Well, just ordered my PB12-Plus and can't wait. Now to find something to fill the space my Samson 1000 and Art 351 EQ is taking up in the credenza with some other new toy.

Congrats on the PB12-Plus Juan. I've had mine for 3 weeks and love it. That extra space you want to fill ? How about an amp ? Specifically the
Emotive XPA-3. It will easily power your fronts and center, while your reciever can power the surrounds.

I will probably stick with using the amps in my Pio SC-05, but I think you just gave me an idea. I think I am going to get a two channel amp to put in there and use it for the 3rd zone.

Hi All,

New to the forum and I hope I'm in the right thread for requesting opinions on getting a set of SVS speakers. I recently purchased an Onkyo tx-nr808 and was considering matching that to some S series speakers (STS, SCS and SBS) and I'm still deciding between the PB12 and PC12.

Well anyway, my question is the 808 a good match to the S series?...or perhaps I should consider other speakers.
Hi Vincent. A better place to discuss the main speakers is the speaker forum. As far as your sub decision, the performance of the PB and the PC are very similar. Choose based on which form you find more esthetic or which fits your room better.

Thanks for the subwoofer tip between the PC and PB.

I just wasn't able to find an official SVS speaker thread there without going to specific models. I'll go and check it out there

So my sub came in today. The low bass is definitely there. However the thump/ punch isnt there. My room is about 1700 cubic feet.
And Im using a Pioneer VSX-21txh, if it matters.

Is this sub just have the low bass? I can hear it throughout the house also. But I just cant feel it.

Any recommendations if I am doing something wrong?

o yea, and the subwoofer is in the left hand corner of the room.

Start by moving it out of the corner. It's sounds as though you are getting too much room gain emphasis of the deeper bass and it is overwhelming the mod-bass where the punch comes from.

thanks how far away from the corner should it be?

also, is it better putting the sub at the corner? or at the front ?

Since its not working good were its at I would first try moving it a few feet if possible forward and if you dont get good results then I would move it to your front stage thats were I put my subs and there even off center and its a sweet spot for my room . Just keep trying different areas especially since your sub is light enough to move around and you'll find the sweet spot. Also you could try doing the good old bass crawl

All rooms are different and finding the best location for the sub is a system of trial-and-error. Also, you can try the crawl for bass technique. Place the sub at you seating area, then crawl around the room to find where the bass sounds best. Then put the sub in that spot where the bass sounded best, and voila, it should now sound very similar at your seating area. Sometimes you may also have to experiment with the crossover, the phase, and the levels. If all else fails, you then need to measure the frequency response and you might have to resort to EQ. Actually, almost all setups can benefit from bass EQ.

where can i find an affordable Subwoofer EQ?

The most sophisticated low-priced EQ unit is the Behringer Feedback Destroyer Pro DSP 1124P. They sell new for under $100, but can be bought for less.

If i do purchase the Behringer 1124p, what additional wires do I need to hook up to my receiver and subwoofer?

Im assuming the Behringer does not use RCA cables?

You can use an RCA-to-1/4" jack converter.

ok thanks. Im assuming i need 2 of them. Receiver to EQ, EQ to Subwoofer.

I did some googling earlier. What are the XLR plugs people are talking about for the Behringers? do these work also? is the quality much better?
Im assuming its RCA to XLR?

Man, this PB12-Plus is is one heavy beast, and looks bigger than I thought even though I measured. I thought it would be too big when I set it up, but my wife likes it better the the cylinder and thinks it is fine.

Thanks, and I am already enjoying it. Thinking about getting an Antimode to add to it and see what difference it makes.

I just bought a used PB12-NSD subwoofer but the guy forget to put the power cord in the box when shipped. Is there a certain power cord I need to use for my sub ?

I needed a longer power cord for my PB-12 Plus and this is what SVS recommended I purchase:

I bought a 15ft. one and have not had any issues whatsoever.

My sub isn't close enough to my APC unit, so I just have it plugged into a Tripplite surge protector. I don't see a reason there would be an issue being plugged into your Panamax. If it is also an UPS unit, then just make sure the power draw isn't too much.

My 6 subs are plugged in to 5 differing 600s Richard Gray power conditioners (along with my other equipment) in the 'star configuration RG recommends'. They are fed with 2 separate 20A lines.
