My PC12-NSD produces monstrous output; even though my room isn't sealed, during very heavy bass moments (see 5-star movies on the Master List) I can sometimes hear and feel the walls flexing; and I run it at a lower gain than recommended by Audyssey. So when you say that yours seems about on par with your 10" Velodyne, I immediately suspect that something is terribly wrong.
If your program material doesn't contain a lot of bass, you might not notice the difference between a high quality, low-output sub like your Velodyne, and the PC12-NSD. However, as soon as the heavy bass starts to fire in your program material, you should notice a huge difference, especially if your PC12 is in the same place as your Velodyne was. So what kinds of movies are you watching? More like Inception, or more like On Golden Pond?
