I have always used component video cables (Liberty) with my dual cylinders, which have performed flawlessly.

I had the 3 meter SVS cable hooked up to my SB12...and it was of poor quality imho ....the pin broke off in the input when trying to remove it when I upgraded to the PB12

Interesting. I was assuming their cable would be good quality so their customers get the most out of their sub. There are some good write ups on the Mediabridge Ultra Series sub cable so I'm going to give that a go.

I really don't feel like I would notice an improvement over using some random RCA cables I had laying around.

I'm using a Monoprice sub cable and Y-adapter on my PC-12 NSD. Works like a charm, and the best part is that it's cheap too.

And you probably wouldn't notice a difference either. If I don't have a 15' cable hanging around, how much will I have to pay for a 15' cable at Radio Shack or MonoPrice? I would consider myself lucky to find a 15' subwoofer cable at Radio Shack so I'll have to include the cost of gallon of gas on the final purchase price and currently, gas in our neighborhood is $3.81/gal. So going with Radio Shack, there's good reason to believe I'd be doing nothing but harming the environment by going there to see what the local store has on hand.

Just for giggles, I checked with Monoprice's online shopping and for what I perceive to be a similar delivered product, would cost me $10.35. If I went with two day shipping, like is offered by Amazon, Monoprice would charge me, $20.76. Just saying.

Yes Monoprice delivery is relatively high if you are only ordering 1 or 2 items & why I swayed to Amazon.

Why are you using a y-adapter. What does that buy you?

We're not in the same league at all (then again, few people are in your league to begin with I think). Don't you think (part of) the slam / chest thump could come from your 920s? I recon those have 10" woofers?

Congrats! Depending on where you come from in terms of subwoofage, you may be very, very surprised at how much can come out of this small sub. My SB12 was an eye-opener, and I miss it sometimes

When needed, a 3dB boost.

We currently have a "Y" splitter added to one of our subs to help balance out the measured output as even though the subs are the same, the output gain is not the same. With the addition of the "Y" splitter to the one sub, the difference in the output is minimized by 3dB and now the subs are calibrated within the +/-2dB limits of the sound meter.

Turning up the gain by 3db has the same effect as a Y splitter and it's cheaper.

Yes, the Y in order to use the two inputs will give 3 dB *input* gain, but won't change the max output, of course.

One possible benefit of using the Y is lowering the threshold required for auto-turn-on.

Doing it the way you suggest doesn't work as I tried to point out. The first thing one needs to do is calibrate their subwoofer output and the gain control won't allow this to be done within the accuracy of the sound meter. In my case, turning the gain up an additional notch causes a 10dB increase which is more of a gain then Audyssey or the AVR internal gain is capable of dealing with. What I did could only be done with benefit of a "Y" splitter.

My comment was a response to the comment I responded to and yes, it's a valid reason to add a "Y" splitter.

I've never had any problems with the "Media Bridge" cables on Amazon. Work well, good quality and fast free delivery.....with prime.

I'm using Media Bridge cables for my DefTech LFE channels. No issues with them what so ever. For my SVS I had to make a cable, couldn't find a 50' white cable anywhere. I used RG-6 coax with
these ends, I can't tell any difference in the cables...

Looks like the winter storm has stopped my PB12-Plus from being delivered today. It was in the "destination warehouse" at 2:00a.m. this morning
but it's going to stay there until Monday. At least it's in a safe location.....

Yes it does. I was really excited about having the Plus here for the weekend but I'm not blaming anyone... Just whining, ha-ha. On the bright side

My (black) Media Bridge cable came today. Looks like a good quality cable. Just an FYI - looks like you can now get a 50' Media Bridge cable in white here if anyone else is interested. I have a QED Performance Mini Subwoofer cable that I'm using somewhere else. Its nice if you want to run a cable along the floor as its slimline. They are pretty pricey in the US (I got mine thrown with a complete HT deal a few years back in the UK) but I did notice similar thin sub cables on Amazon when I was looking the other day. Hopefully this might just help someone out.

Okay, it's not the local warehouse then You're right, better safe than sorry. Although you're lucky to even have a vehicle capable of hosting the PB12-Plus. I don't think it would fit in my hatchback. Although I was *barely* able to fit two PC12-Plus in it.
