Plasma TV Lift Cabinets??

I'm planning to purchase a 42" plasma in the near future as my backup TV. But due to the room layout I will have to mount it in a cabinet with a remote controlled lift. I plan to build the unit myself, but I was hoping to see some inovative examples of lift cabinets. Not just the same old entertainment center style 3 doored cabinets. The room already has a big 3 cabinet entertainment center which only fits a 27" TV, but the wife wants to keep it for books and such. Anyone know of any manufacturers with cool designs?

I have no idea on the price, but I installed a 50 inch Pioneer plasma in a lift kit for a customer last week. It came from Ethan Allen and it was actually the easiest lift kit I have ever worked with. Some of them have VERY little room on the reverse side (back of the plasma) so the bolts have to be sunk in or they will hit the lip of the cabinet when lowering. This model had plenty of room and had a really nice wire management system inside.

Those Ethan Allen kits rock! They are incredibly classy. Sadly, they're not cheap.

Costco was selling a nice looking one that would hold up to a 50" I think...It weighed a TON though.

Hey I was thinking about getting harmony remote with RF and purchasing a touchstone cabinet. The cabinet is not in the database but the box has an IR in port, a 12 volt trigger and an rs-232 port. The cabinet's remote is RF so i cant harvest the ir signal from that. However would there be any there way to control the cabinet? I have to get a touchstone because they have the best looking cabinet design. Thank you so much for your help!

Nexus 21 is another good option for the lift system. They also have a cabinet section on their website. Hope this helps!

Holy cow is that under-bed lift expensive!! I could think of much better things to spend $20k on!!! The Import lifts are about the price I figured they would be. I don't have need for a lift but the idea is very cool!! Actually I need a drop - kinda...
