User's experience with Sammy HL-S4266W and 360!?

How is gaming on your HL-S4266W? Taking back my Sharp AQUOS 1080p set tomorrow and am considering the HL-S. Hopefully I'll be more impressed with the DLP set, LCD was not cutting it for me. PQ and motion blur was crap.

I'm hoping the HL-S4266W has straight enough geometry, nice picture quality, and looks great in motion. Along with the obvious stuff like, no LAGGING, ghosting and rainbows; all without turning on game mode mind you. I hear it looks like crap.

If not its back to CRT for me, at least until the technology catches up with these crazy prices, and a 2ms LCD set comes out.

:EDIT: Same goes for the HL-S4666W Model.

Also looking at the KDS50A2000 Sony model.

The HLS4266W and the HLS4666W use "left-over" parts from the rest of the Samsung line. You would be better off looking at the 1080p sets, whether they be a Samsung DLP or one of Sony's SXRD sets.

I'd also like to know if the HL-S4266W is a good choice to play a xbox360 on

i just recently purchased this model of samsung dlp and installed it over last weekend. I played a little gears of war for the first time and have to say that it is very good. i could not tell any lag, I had it hooked up first with component. The optical out did not work for some reason so I bought the VGA out and I think it has a slightly better picture using the vga connection. It does for some reason when setting it to 1280x720 using vga you have an inch of black all around the screen using vga. It can be corrected using 1024x768 but the look of that isnt what I liked. The black really isnt noticable but something to know.

I will be doing some more playing this weekend but as far as I can tell my only complaint is that gears of war, esp the first part is a little dark, I had to go in and adjust the brightness a bit in the game from the options menu, other than that textures look great, some jaggedness on one of the characters neck but only when in a cutscene that is close up, no apparent lag. I would say this is a very good display for xbox 360, I will hopefully be testing out superman in HD from xboxlive this weekend so if youre interested just tell me!

by the way, dvd's look great, i havent done much if any callibration, just eyeing to what I like until a test dvd arrives, and Fifth element, looked smooth, detailed, and very good color saturation across the board. I am very happy with the display.

good luck!

cool! good to know because I am thinking of buying this TV and going to be mainly using it for a 360. Does it have any geometry problems? becuase that is one thing that bothers me more than anything. also any blackgrass or raingow effect problems?
sorry, here to make a quick reply, no geometry problems that Ive seen, no black grass either, and I purposely looked for it in dark and very black scenes and with the video off (not the tv turned off

Im watching superman in HD downloaded from xbox live tonight and will be comparing it to the dvd from the xbox so I will try to get something back up here when Im done!

If you have specific questions you want answered please let me know, pm me or something!
