M y very first HD-DVD i bought to go along with my player was Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang word of mouth made me buy the film. I have sadly only seen it in SD over at a friends house but i liked and can't wait to see it again in HD glory

Thanks to Microsoft tainting me, it was King Kong. First title I bought by choice was Serenity... and a great choice that was (Firefly ftw!!!)

When I bought the 360 add-on I also bought Superman II: Donner Cut and watched that first.

Technically it should be a tie between Superman II Donner Cut and SUperman Returns, but since I had the SD DVD box set and sold it the next week to finance the HD versions, the first true movie I've never owned at all until HD-DVD was Miami Vice. All the others I have except for day and date stuff I've replaced the SD.

First HD-DVD owned by was Training Day. I started buying movies like 4 months defore the 360 Addon came to market. I was planning on buying a standalone player, well I did. I got the RCA @ Walmart on clearance. Sold it, because of the slow startup and bugs with VanHelsing. Glad I did. The 360 is becoming a Entertainment maddog. I haven't played a game in forever. Straight HD-DVD use. I'm sure this will change when HALO 3 is released.

World Trade Center was my first, I picked up Batman Begins 'first' but I already had that on dvd.

The first title I bought on HD DVD also happened to be the first one that I didn't own on DVD.......Goodfellas. I wanted to pick it up on DVD for the longest time, so I'm glad I waited. Out of the 13 titles that I currently own on HD DVD, I already own King Kong, The Hulk, Troy, Batman Begins, and Enter The Dragon on DVD. King Kong I got for free with the 360 add on.

My first HD-DVD was serenity and charlie and the choclate factory.

I watched serinty first and have been hooked ever sence.

I'm watching firefly right now, went to th casino drank 10 botles of coke black I'm a little sleepy and wired at the same time. Figure a movie on the ipod should help me sleap. Although I've got to drive a hour home. Then I shall really sleep yep...

Nacho Libre

The Phantom of The Opera

After 20 titles, it is still HANDS DOWN my favorite title for Film Content (my first priority) and Picture Quality.

My only complaint is about the muted sound track (also present in the SD version, but to a lesser degree).

Day one: Serenity, TLS and POTO. The only double dips have been: Dazed & Confused, Fear & Loathing (both Criterions), Lethal Weapon & Mission Impossible 1 and 2 and Willy Wonka. If I don't watch it on a semi-regular basis, there is no need to buy another copy.

Technically it was King Kong since it came with my add on. Superman Returns and V for Vendetta are both films I never purchased on dvd and felt it was time with the HD DVD versions.

Slither, because I wanted to see the movie but didn't want to blow $20 on the regular DVD knowing that my mind was already made to go HD-DVD.

Bought seven more HD-DVD's (Batman Begins, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lady in the Water, Fearless, Good Night, and Good Luck and Superman Returns) and an HD-DVD add-on for my XBox 360 (w/ King Kong packed-in) but haven't hooked them up because I haven't bought an HDTV yet. Ironically, despite my antipathy toward them because of cost, the HD-DVD combos have allowed me to enjoy my purchases by letting me watch the SD version of these movies while I get closer to pulling the trigger on what will be my first ever HDTV.

All of mine have been double dips. My first will probably be The Departed since it is coming out the same time as DVD.
Aside from King Kong (free with the X360 add-on) my first titles were Chronicles of Riddick and Batman Begins. Double dips here as well, already had these two on DVD (over 600).
I picked up Unleashed, Polar Express, and Batman Begins. Those wer my first HD-DVDs.

Serenity
Chronicles of Riddick

I previously didn't own either of these and bought them with the player.
