1.The "Model" you have.
UN46B7000

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
The picture quality/performance, size, got a great deal on the pricing and features.

3. What you like best about your LCD.
What's not to like about this TV set but if I had to choose one the picture quality is so clear and the HD is the best I have ever seen in any LCD TV.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
The Auto dimming but I've heard this feature can be turned off in the service menu screen. I haven't done it yet as I heard it can null the warranty.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
Wireless network connection built in instead of dropping another $80 to have the feature. PIP were you can watch two signals from the same input like how my old Sony CRT Wega had. A TV guide like the Sony XBR9 has.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
Include the features from #5

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
How thin & light it was and didn't sacrifice picture quality at all.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
None at all.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
No, after months of research and holding back til the right time to buy the TV in my opinion I got a great deal on the TV but still over price.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
Flashlighting that isn't noticeable untill you switch inputs.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.

1. The "Model" you have. Sony Bravia 52" KDL52Z5100

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model. 240hz, 1080p, lots of inputs

3. What you like best about your LCD. Amazing picture

4. What you don't like about your LCD. Came set up way too bright, needed lots of tweaking.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had. Wireless internet connection for firmware updates like the BDP S-560

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD. Fix your website so people can download firmware updates without having to go though the mail.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD. It needed a firmware update immediately to fix some annoying bugs.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD. None that weren't resolved with the firmware update.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it. Yes.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
Picture and sound quality are amazing, bezel is nice. Being able to turn off the sony logo light is nice, but they should have made it possible to turn off the power and signal indicator lights in the bottom right hand corner.

Picked this up with the BDP-S560 from bestbuy and paid less than $2500 after tax for both with 3 years no interest. Been waiting 4 years to get a big LCD, and glad I waited.

None really, other than check around for the lowest prices and shop at stores that price match less a percentage. I saved $50 that way.

Tell me the following:

1. The "Model" you have.

Samsung B6000

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.

55 inches. Delivered a better pic than any plasma I saw.

3. What you like best about your LCD.

Beautiful picture...no annoying fuzzy squares around objects on screen like all the regular LCD's I saw.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.

I've only had it for a day...time will tell if there is something to not like.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.

I think I got what I wanted. The only two things I flip-flopped over were 240hz refresh rate and direct backlighting vs edge. Everything I read said that the 120 vs 240 refresh rate wasn't worth paying up for since you can't really tell the difference.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.

Dunno yet...too new.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.

How much football I could watch. On average I might was 2 games a year...yesterday I parked my butt on the couch, drank beer and watched all the sports I oculd. Another big surprise was how much emotion you can see on the faces of the fans when the cameras zoom in. On the old TV you could tell if a fan was shocked by a play...but in HD you can also tell that their eyes are getting watery as they try to fight back the tears...really nice pics.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.

Nothing yet with the TV...but hooking the other devices up to it can be frustrating.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.

The TV was advertised as $3,500 on sale for around $2,700. Who knows if it's a gimmic but they state $800 worth of savings. It wasn't all that much money so I said what the hell. The TV I was replacing was 8 years old...still a good TV. I wasn't even considering replacing it but I got an e-mail about the sale price...seemed like a good time to buy.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.

I was treated like a rock star leaving Best Buy. I was pulled up on the curb waiting for my TV and was talking with another customer. They rolled her 37 inch TV out as her husband pulled his truck up. Then they rolled out my TV...a 55 inch monster in a box. Her husband got a huge grin, pointed at mine and yelled "now THAT'S a TV!"

Another customer was leaving and just kept milling around on the drivers side of my truck. My wife told me he was trying to get my attention so I rolled down the window and he says "You gonna watch some football?" I said "Oh yeah". He says "I hope you ain't gonna be watchin' Dallas!" I promised him that the only time Dallas will be on my TV is when they are getting their butts whooped.

I hate spending money...I don't buy much stuff...but so far I'm very pleased with this purchase.

1. The "Model" you have.
Insignia NS-L42X-10A

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
Price, 2 year Warranty, & in store comparison.

3. What you like best about your LCD.
Tons of inputs and easy setup.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
Sound is not very good (flat).

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
USB input

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
More picture control options & better sound

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
How light it was and also how good it looked mounted on the wall.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
None

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
Yes, if you don't spend too much and also if you aren't looking for your TV to last 10 years.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
Don't overlook this TV since it's not a name brand.
1. The "Model" you have.
LG 55LH40 - It's a 55" 120hz LCD. I paid $1260 (after taxes) from Sears. It was listed for $1400 but I got 15% off because of a special promotion.

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
Price was right and picture was bright with good contrast

3. What you like best about your LCD.
It's size (55"). The adjustability of the controls is awesome. You have control over every setting and it's all in a well laid out menu. The "quick menu" is pretty cool too. You can change many of the settings using this small dial in the corner of the screen - eliminating the need to dig through the main menu.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
I was initially unimpressed about the non-HD picture quality. On a 55", poor picture quality is very noticeable. I cleaned it up using some of the settings and it has gotten better.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
Disappointed it doesn't have an S-video input. Although, I guess I should upgrade my DVD player to one that uses HDMI (it has 4 HDMI inputs).
I also wish it had an SD input. I'd like to put my SD card in to scroll through pictures. To get around this, I can hook up my laptop with an HDMI and put the memory card in my laptop. Not a big deal.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
Fix the lip sync issues. I adjusted it but the problem still exists on some channels. I know they are working on a firmware upgrade but hurry up.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
How big it looks in my gameroom. It's awesome!

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
Just the lip sync issue mentioned above. The sound is off from the video on some broadcasts.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
Yes...I spent $2,200 for a 36" CRT Sony HDTV 5 years ago. This TV was listed for $1400 (and I paid $1200) and it is worlds above my Sony.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
The picture quality is not on par with Samsung but the price is far below Samsung. It's a worthwhile trade-off.

1. The "Model" you have.
Sony KDL-52Z5100

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
BB Price-$1799.00 and the fact I've always like the Z-series since I refer to them a s a XBR Lite. A solid value for those like me when the XBr is just out of reach

3. What you like best about your LCD.
Size..52". Also plenty of inputs, matte no-glare screen, a simply but nice frame, the 240Hz rate and a outstanding picture

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
nothing at this time

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
PIP but not a must have but for a set of this size yea.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
Offer PIP but other than that not much else

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
After using settings posted here and throwing normal DVD's at it I was amazed at the detail. Of course this replaced a Mits RPTV with a BD player via DVI. I now plan on going thru several DVDs

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
None....of course this is not our main set and it's only one month old

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
I think that depends on one needs and haves. If you have a BD player and view HD content then yea and it's a buyers market. Plus with LED making strides you can get some great deals on LCD much like we did.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged
This is our second Sony LCD in a year and half. My first choice was the LG 47" LED but issues with the lip sync made me weary and the Sony 52" was just $130 more. I only wish Sony would have a LED line like Samsung.

1. The "Model" you have.
Samsung LN40B650 Series 120Hz LCD

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
The picture quality!! Superior deep blacks, amazing contrast & quality product from this manufacturer. Also, it didn't hurt that it was $600 off on sale at Sears and since BBuy doesn't carry this particular size/model, I had to jump at the chance to finally owning one.

3. What you like best about your LCD.

The smoothness of their AutoMotion Plus video for movies, sports and games. Can hardly see any smearing
or halo effects from the 1st generation models a couple years ago. And of course the overall superior image this set displays.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
Viewing angle is limited and gets washed out compared to what I used before (26" analog Sony CRT) but I won't be sitting anywhere else except right in front of it. The Auto-Dimming when using Standard mode is annoying when the credits come at the end of a movie and looks dim one second and when a bunch of white text is shown, the lighting comes on significantly.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
A freeze button just so I can take shots of OTA station programming.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
Have an opacity option for the onscreen menus so they can be more transparent and get rid of that Auto-Dimming.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
How quickly and easily it was to set up and get a really nice image from just a few minor tweaks. Also, very impressed with the speed it powers up and how fast it goes through channels with a straight cable connection.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
Auto-Dimming, and it attracts dust like you wouldn't believe.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
Very much so, get out there and buy now and start enjoying great HD material!

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
Other than little touches like the swivel base/stand, the simple but easy to use backlit remote and the overall quality of the product, not much else since I'm sure someone with more technical knowledge has covered it. I'm very impressed by the look and style of this year's base and stand and the bezel frame looks slick with its clear edge makes it look very classy.

Here are some screenshots of the TV using PS3 via HDMI:

Obviously you can tell which ones are regular standard dvd & blu-ray...

Warrranty

3. What you like best about your LCD.
Brightness, contrast and overall picture quality. Black levels are decent.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
Color accuracy of yellows/greens Is there a service menu? ?

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
Individual color adjustments for color purity.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
Provide at least Red, Blue, & Green saturation and tint adjusts.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
It compares very well to my 40" Mitsubishi except for the yellows/greens

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
None

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
This set cost $499. I would hope for $300 for a nice 37" 1080P.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.

This TV has a very pleasing picture when using Avia or Video Essentials and then tweaked with a good "reference" DVD [ I use Sea Biscuit because the 1st 6 minutes have B&W for black level and white level adjust as well as Red/Green saturation].

Price and performance

3. What you like best about your LCD.
ability to adjust just about all aspects of picture settings.

Model: Toshiba 37rv525r

What convinced me to buy it: Price/Performance. Prior experience with Toshiba HD tv. A search of this thread showed no one has purchased this set yet - therefore, I am unique!

What you like best about the tv: Picture, looks, variable audio out for my headphone use. Not many sets have this feature.

What you don't like about the tv: HD looks so good that SD really looks bad. Caused me to get DishTV to come out today and install another HD receiver in the bedroom (where this tv is located).

What features do I wish the tv had: Swivel base.

What suggestions or advice would I give Toshiba: Have a closed caption enable/disable button on the remote. Also, backlight the remote.

Problems or issues: Only had it a couple days - none so far.

Do you think today's prices are worth it: Yes, if you find the tv you want on sale or at a good price - you MUST shop around.

Added comments: This set was hundreds less than comparable units. It is only 60hz but I am not a gamer and the only thing I do is lay in bed and watch the news or Jay Leno before going to sleep. For that, this can not be beat. It is a far better tv (and from a known manufacturer) than entry level but at an entry level price.

Video settings should be in all color modes i.e. Vivid, Movie etc.
Menu only allows to tweak the video settings in User mode. But this is not really a Con for me. After tweaking video settings in User mode the PQ and color rendition are extremely sharp and crisp with great fleshtone, from my DN 722DVR via a 75' HDMI cable !
"EXTREMELY"

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
Usually in all LCD HDTV's the audio is poor. The speakers in this set surprized me......I would rate the audio quality from this tv very high.
8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
None

Its respone time, 24p, sharpness, 0 uniformity screen issues.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.

Depending on tech & screen size, yes.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.

Don't be turned off by Sony's W series or Sony for that matter. They still make excellent Displays & are always improving. The model I got I reference as "high-end" & rare. If you see this particular model drop in price, take a closer look for yourself.

3. Tons of inputs, clarity, detail, black levels, SRS TruSurround XT

4. Nothing at this point really

5. Nothing really

6. Wider availability

7. The black levels, I think they are very good. I was expecting less.

8. The ports don't instantly recognize an incoming signal. The headphone port does not mute if you use the mute button

9. $400? Yeah..

10.

Shadowing is off (Much deeper/not so crushed, the iPhone just glosses them over) and the exposure is off (iPhone) but the black levels are very good IMO..

1. The "Model" you have.
Samsung Model LN32B540 720p LCD HDTV (Purchased from Costco.)

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
Picture qualities and features

3. What you like best about your LCD.
Picture quality, sound quality, fast channel switching, earphone output, multi inputs

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
Cost. (All LCD HDTV's are way overpriced for what you get)

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
(1) User flash-drive input (ie: USB, SD, etc.) for pictures etc.
(2) Abiliy to adjust ALL of the TV's picture functions.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
(1) Live up to your warranty and service obligations, without having to have the Government jump down your throat.
(2) Employ service representives who have some basic technical knowledge. It becomes very tiresum having to explain a simple service problem to 3-4 different people, who don't understand even basic electronics, and are not familiar with their own products.
(3) Speed up response to service problems.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
TWO (2) completely different warranty polices on same model.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
(1) Warranty statement printed on 3 side of box TV shipped in stated "1 Year In-Home Service Warranty that Includes Parts and Labor". Warranty included inside box with "User's Manual" states is warranty is "Carry-In" service. (Had to get Attorney General of New Jersey involved to make Samsung to live up to their stated warranty.)
(2) Unit has firmware problem. When time is set to Pacific Time Zone, all times shown in various program info windows is off by one hour (1 hour earlier than actual the actual time). This error prevents user from using station time-switch functions. Obviously someone at Samsung messed up GMT time zone, as setting TV to Mountain Time Zone, gives correct times.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
NO! High prices are result of lack of competition. Basically 3 manufacturers control most LCD screen production.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
(1) Was told by a senior Samsung tech that sometimes Samsung makes changes to their firmware, but dont change the version number. (A really, really smart idea. If true, it's no wonder Samsung have so many problems.)
(2)Anyone having a warranty problem with Samsung, should visit The State of New Jersey Office of the Attorney General website to obtain details and to file a formal complaint against Samsung. (Samsung's US Headquarters are in New Jersey.) Samsung has signed a concent agreement with the State of New Jersey, due to the many complaints received where Samsung was not honoring their Waranty or Service Contracts. Samsung must reply to your complaint within 30-60 days.

1. The "Model" you have.
Vizio 55" LCD LED HDTV Model#VF551XVT

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
It was on sale at Costco at 1997.99 with a return credit for my Vizio P50HDM
from Vizio.
3. What you like best about your LCD.
The images are beautiful, even on standard definition the de-judder processor makes the motion look real and appear three dimensional.

The panel in the back is very difficult to get to and the side inputs are impossible to put things into especially in a tight space.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
Internet connectivity

Extend the warranty to longer than 1 year standard. They offer longer warranties but you could purchase a Blu-ray player for that cost.

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
It was very light, the stand was very wide and I did not anticipate it in my dimension calculations to fit my current entertainment center.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
None

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
Yes

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
For the cost of this 55" back-lit LED, I believe it was a bargain. The support you will get from Vizio is far beyond most large companies will provide you. They continued to provide support even though the plasma I am returning was out of warranty.

Recently ordered a Sammy UNB46B8000 240hz LED, and can hardly wait to receive it next week. Never had a 1080 set, and usually by Sony.

Ordered thru Amazon and impressed with their efficiency and cutomer service.
