Add VGA and DVI inputs. Include a universal remote.

How great I was able to get the standard analog cable picture quality to look!
The vertical/horizontal viewing angles are great even though the color saturation changes at side views.
Smart stretch is usable for 4:3 broadcast

For what I paid, definitely. But this model is $400-$500 more at some stores.

If you're in the market for a 37" for less than $995 and don't mind buying an older model, I'd say check this model out before you buy the off brand LCDs.

Was comparing it to the Sony 46V2500 and Sharp Aquos 46" LCD. Went to 4 different stores, and in each the Samsung had the best picture by far. Also, got it at a great price.

Trying to figure out the settings.

Don't know yet.

Don't put on the swivel stand. It took me about 6 hours of aggravation and several calls to Samsung, as well as, a trip to Home Depot, Lowes, and the neighborhood hardware store to try and figure out what screwdriver to use.

How big a 46" TV truly is. It doesn't look that big in the store.

8. What "Problems or Issues" have you had with your LCD.
Trying to take off the swivel stand. Other than that, I wish when watching non-HD channels, the TV would use the whole screen, instead of just part of it.

9. Do you really think that todays "Prices" are worth it.
No. I think these TVs are too expensive. However, I believe that the price will drop soon enough like everything else.

If you get one of these TVs it's best to get a HTIB system or some type of surround sound system. I bought the Sony DAV-DX375 home theatre system and with the TV, you would swear that you are at the movies.

Got an extremely good price, $2600 from BestBuy. They have dropped a tremendous amount since 1-2 years ago.

I bought the Onkyo HTS894 5.1 Surround Sound system to go with it and it makes a world of difference. The two built in speakers work OK, but a HTIB makes it great.

Looking at a lot of the more expensive TV reports above, I would say the fact I have NO backlight issue with my TV is cool. I also love the that you can tweak this thing through access to the factory service menu.

2. Cheap cheap cheap. I never saw one in the flesh, just decided to do an impulse purchase from a web site having a crazy special.
3. Picture is great, even zoomed SD is not bad. Loads of inputs including VGA.
4. Not compatible with other multi-function remotes. No way to jump to a specific input, have to scroll thru them all.

7. General PQ and specifically the lack of backlight bleed, which I assumed would be worse on a "budget" panel like this. I don't tend to use this set in totally dark rooms for theater purposes, though.

The fact that VGA and Component doesn't accept 1080p. The viewing angles are not very good at all!

Add more ports! Speeden up the menu. I hear some LCD's suffer banding issues, mine might suffer from it slightly, work on PQ and offer customers quick replacements!

The SD quality, it's phenomenal! Much better then even the Sony X range.
Blows my old Sony Bravia away too.

I practically stole it at the price I got after thanksgiving at J&R online. 1080p monitor is best for gaming on pc, htpc use, full detail shown for 1080i content and full 1080p for bluray/hddvd.

3. What you like best about your LCD.

Great PQ, especially over hdmi. 6 1080p inputs! good upscaling as far as my untrained eye can tell. Pixel size is great, 1920x1080 is perfect resolution at 4 foot distance as I cant see the pixels. I think anything larger than 40" in the future should have more pixels, like 2560x1600.

4. What you don't like about your LCD.

Deinterlacing leaves a little to be desired, ghosting on interlaced content. Black level is not as good as crt, but thats normal for lcd. VGA for some reason overscans four pixels width on the left when scaling 1024x768.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.

One more HDMI input. Multiple fill/zoom/stretch modes instead of only 'fill' and 'standard'. Center channel 'in' for using the builtin speakers for center channel.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.

A universal remote would have been nice. The deinterlacer could be better.

I can pick it up myself with no strain, whereas I dread when my mother needs me to help move her 35" tube tv- it takes two people straining to move that thing. My girlfriends old vhs tapes of MysteryScienceTheater3000 look better though the composite than I have ever seen them, I thought they would be unwatchable when scaled so much. In addition to PIP it has two other modes: POP, which puts the little second picture beside the main instead of over it; and PBP, which I love, it puts two pictures split screen sidebyside.

Only problem is the four pixel overscan on vga at 1024x768, but that really doesn't affect anything.

I paid US899 plus 62 shipping. This was half what I expected to pay. Prices are definately coming down and I got way more than my moneys worth. In three years I expect to upgrade to a 50" 2560x1600 lcd for similar price with better blacks, led backlighting, and better scaling and all digital inputs.

This is a monitor and best used as such. Recomended most for HTPC. Best when fed a good 1080p signal. Thats why its so cheap, its not a tv, its a monitor.

First it was "Enhanced Definition". That means anything smaller than a billboard is unwatchable.

Well, I was going back and forth and initially went with the Panasonic 42" HD plasma (which looked amazing), but I was completely consumed by fear of burn in (even if it is ridiculous) since I'm a pretty avid gamer. I found this TV for a nice price and it was a good size.

The black panel is nice, HDTV is pretty damn clear and games look really, really nice on it.

The nature of LCD's in general. The Panasonic plasma had great black levels and going to LCD was a noticeable difference.

1080p and another HDMI slot.

The peace of mind that came without having to worry about burn in. Just how white whites seem to get. The panel is really nice looking, too.

None. No dead pixels, no clouds that I can see, none of that bad stuff.

Definitely, especially if you catch good sales. I got my 40" LCD for $1500. Not bad at all, I don't think.

Think before you buy. I jumped the gun on the initial purchase and was filled with doubt (in some ways, I still kind of question whether to go with 1080p or not). I ended up trading in one TV and almost doing it a second time, nearly becoming one of those annoying customers.

SO far. Started this trip after watching the same tvs for over 10 yrs. Got hooked on all the HDTV stuff. Started with DirectTV HD-20 RX and Sanyo 32477. Not bad for a while till I realized the limited selection of HD. Then TV got the "Greenies" and had to replace. Next choice was ILO 32" Bad choice. Trouble initializing that set. The Initialize function was required each time I started the set. Used Walmarts 30 day feature and now we are viewing the new Sanyo. The improvement is great.

Decent bedroom set.
Simple software update.

- Remote does not work with anything but the TV, even same brand!
- Noticable uneven back light if viewing off axis (as little as 30 degrees).

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
- Digital audio in and analog audio out, like the 37PF9431D/37.
- S/N meter for OTA reception. If this represents the only ATSC tuner in your home, good luck with antenna selection and placement should you choose this route.
- Program guide. Many older tuners have this, there is no reason it cannot be done here.
- Toggle and skip buttons for A/V inputs.
- More than one personal video profiles.

See 4 and 5 above.

It worked even with severe abuse from UPS. I was for sure it had to go back when I could see part of both the front and back of the TV without opening the box.
