I'm not sure what you mean?

so inceasing the contrast does not increase the light output?

Yes,but the bulb runs at the same output, regardless of settings.

wow I never knew that
all these years I have been very conserative with the contrast settings trying to be easy on the original bulb

To add.....after replacing my bulb, which had just over 4000 hours, it made a very noteable improvement in brightness! (My wife noticed nothing!!!! )

i was trying to look thru my menu's to see how to change from dynamic to theater mode for instance but couldnt find it. I have misplaced my remote so i am using a universal at the moment which has added some challenge in navigating thru the menu's.

i found an older jvc remote from our crt tv and that got me so i could change from dynamic to standard mode.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

1) Hit SLEEP once.
2) Hit VIDEO STATUS + DISPLAY together. You'll see the service menu.
3) Hit the number 2. You'll see another screen with 4 digits at the bottom left: like 0045 or 00A1, etc.
4) It's in Hex, so fire up your Windows calculator, switch it to Scientific mode, choose Hex as input, enter the digits and switch back to the Digital mode. You'll see your total hours in digital. Btw, leave the first few 0's out in Hex (eg: for the above, enter only 45 or A1, etc.).

This number also seems to reset when you reset the lamp useage. What I want to know is how can I see what the total # of hours (lifetime) the TV has been used (as in turned on and running).

Thank you for any help with this.

This television still impresses me
anyway I settled on these settings
