I would like to add a request to this thread. Please post your comments or pictures of how the 1080p upconvert looks on your particular set as well. Short and sweet, or long and detailed would be appreciated!!

Any word on the Toshiba's yet? I have a 56MX195, but the bulb is out and the replacement is being held hostage at a Fed Ex sorting facility a mile from where I work. If no one beats me too it, I will report in a few days, however I am anxious to know.

Westinghouse Lvm-37w1 , the first generation 1080p westy, works fine! I just needed to adjust the positioning and center the image and bam, looks beautiful.

Somebody tell me how I can make it work with Sharp 52D62U, no vga connection on this LCD.

Only component and HDMI.

Westy LVM-42w2. 1080p works over component and VGA. Component looks better to me (colors look washed out over VGA). This is unfortunate because the DVD player won't upscale to to 1080p over component for legal reasons... Anyone else try a Westy and get results as good or better than component with VGA? If so, can you share settings?

Westinghouse 37w3. Only testes 1080p through component. It works and text seems clearer however I am having color artifacts that I can reproduce in Hexic, THP8 demo, and R6:V demo. I just started a thread about where I see it in the Hexic menu, please take a look if 1080p is working for you.

I have a westy 42 and 1080p looks good over VGA, the upconversion of DVD's to 1080p is awesome

My 42" Sceptre works with VGA,
but looks noticeably softer and the colors are washed out compared to the component on 1080i. I think the Sceptre's scaler is superior to the 360's 1080p scaler.

Do any other Sceptre owners agree with this? What are your thoughts?

I have a 37" sceptre naga, connected through vga right now.

VGA's colors do appear more "washed out" than component, but I'm almost sure it's because the component's colors are actually oversaturated. I personally don't find it looking good (component)...in fact it looks a bit nasty. In terms of more "accurate" color reproduction, I believe VGA is a closer choice, mainly due to the fact that the color range is closer to what I'm used to seeing on my PCs (I work with photoshop a lot and color caliberation/reproduction is important to me).

well we all need a HDMI cable, so it will look clear and vivid image, not over saturated or dull in color

My Westy LVM37w1 is NOT working in either VGA or component. I get gibberish on the screen. Not recommended to buy one of these atm....

I read somewhere that D62U line of sharps can do 1080P over components. Check the Sharp thread.

I had a Samsung HP-S5033 Plasma which DOES NOT WORK with 1080P. Switched to a Sony Bravia 46" V2500 and loved it!

1080p over VGA and Component works 100%

Samsung HL-S6187W through VGA working beautifully.

SONY 46XBR3 works fine with both component and VGA. Once both inputs are calibrated I can't really tell the difference. VGA gets a + though for DVD Upconversion which is as good as any Oppo DVD Player.
