I've seen Verizon doing a lot of work in the neighborhood, mostly around the Villas.
FIOS cannot come soon enough!
I am in Ni River Landing and we're both served by the Chancellor I CO. Granted, Verizon has a limited amount of money to support the build-out, these funds must support Verizon Virginia's FiOS business model, and some of this information is strategic/proprietary. However, as of February, no one at Verizon could provide me with a timeline as to when the Chancellor I and Spotsylvania COs would be upgraded. What you can do
First, you can contact your Spotsylvania County Cable TV and Telecommunications District Member
and let them know you want FiOS; you're tired of being held hostage by a sole cable provider. Off hand, there appears to be very little they can do to pressure Verizon into providing services beyond the initial service area agreed to in the Franchise Agreement
Next, I would get on your Verizon landline telephone and tell Verizon leadership that you're tired of being held hostage by Adelphia/Comcast and that you want FiOS in your neighborhood. Remember to keep calling back every week, if needed, to check on the status of your request.Verizon Virginia Inc. Contacts
