I was thinking about running a long hdmi cable to the add on player so that I could keep the original 360 in another room due to noise & space. will i be able to control the movie with the remote that way? I hope this makes sense. thanks , chris
The 360 does a stellar job on HD DVD video. It does a reasonable job on the audio, depending on what receiver you have or what you're using for your sound. It's not the best at audio (no lossless), but I've never had a complaint.
The remote will not work in another room, it's standard IR. You can get by if you use the normal controller, which is wireless and will work through walls, and your console isn't too far away.
You can get the standalone Toshibas now for about the same you'd pay for an addon, and they will give you excellent performance, including really good DVD upscaling. It just all depends on what you're looking for.
