Do I need to purchase first? I was hoping to try it out first to make sure it worked.
Also out of curiousity does any hardware come standard with a player that supports HDDVD. It has been established that there is no freeware, but if there is a burner or something that comes with the software I could kill 2 birds with one stone.
Now you just need PowerDVD Ultra. I believe all PC drives that read HD/Blu come with some sort of software. However, simply reading the comments off newegg for the drives themselves, seems you still need to upgrade the software that comes free anyways. So if you don't want the exta PC drive or burner, skip it and just get the software.
I recently got my add-on running with PowerDVD Ultra, and noticed movies with HDi, I need to unhook my internet because the movies lock up on the web enabled download screen. No biggie. Oh, and Ultimatum doesn't play for me. Played fine on my A2.
