Anyone know of the best voice recognition forum?

Hi all,

I have recently begun to concentrate on controlling my home theater/htpc via voice recognition. I'm well on my way and it is way cool (and even convenient). I'm looking for a forum that specializes in this field. Obviously I'm looking for 'command recognition' rather than 'dictation' or ' read back' issues. Although I use Girder extensively, the girder forum is not the kind of place I'm looking for ... but rather a tips/tricks and overall advice forum (microphones/headsets, software, word trianing, etc.).

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions on this? I have just begun the idea as well. Any place to even start looking for software, etc?

I thought of doing the same thing and someone recommended looking at Dragon Naturally Speak. It seems as though the developer versions of the software would allow customization against any application you can run in windows. However, I sort of gave up because the software is only as good as the microphone you are using against it. So far, I have not uncovered any reasonable (cost wise) solution wrt to a wireless mic. Generic bluetooth headsets are useless.

Also, a very noisy background in the HTPC environment is another technical hurdle that can't be solved cheaply by the DIY crowd.

One Voice has a product that works with Media Center 2005. It works amazing well, even demoed at trade shows it is spot on. See it at www.onev.com

take a look at VoxCommando.com

it is designed specifically as a "voice control for htpc" software, but it does more and you can customize almost every aspect of it to fit your needs.

The Knowbrainer forum deals with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and various hardware. Thanks to them, I'm able to seriously use dictation in my office, relieving stress on some arthritic fingers.

Check out Kinekt for PC SDK, it has voice commands too.
