Thanks. Those are with my old camera. I haven't looked at those screenshots in a while... I'd forgotten how nice they turned out.

These more recent screenshots are with my new camera:

I'm in Chicago this week. I brought my XTi with me and I'll be at Cliff's meet this weekend. His G90 stack is literally twice as good as my single G90, so I hope to take some great screenshots at his place. You should come to Cliff's meet... he's right across the Indiana state line.

I saw your new screenshots and it's awesome!!! I love the texture of hippo's skin. I want to get a G90 too but it's so beyond my budget.

I'll check my schedule. I'll pm him too! Thanks.

I posted some pictures of my laminate screen in this thread that I had started (regarding doing a theater room in an unfinished basement):

I'll take some higher resolution screen-only pics for this thread later on.... perhaps from a HD DVD source, Transformers maybe?

IF you guys really want to have images like Clarence's, its very simple.

Step 1: go to www.sony.com
Step 2: pull out your visa/mastercard (with a 5000$ credit limit)
Step 3: Order the G90 CRT.

( maybe after my tax return ill have one w00t)
lol.

good work dude

Clarence, I must say that I am shocked by the images you posted. These are amazing pictures, I am sure you have heard a lot of it. But I am really surprised that the picture can be that great!

I am quite interested in laminate option, I want to build the screen. But I also have an option to buy Draper Cineparm HiDef Grey or White Matte material. Which option is a better one? Of course material is double expensive then laminate, but will I get that quality enhancement? Also, I would have to cut 106" down to 92" and I have been replied to that I'd rather not do it. So, I either have to use laminate or Cineperm 92" 1300. Went to Home Depot and wanted to get some test chips for Fashion Grey, but they did not have any, I can only order the whole sheet with no returns.

I went with Fashion Gray instead of Designer White because I knew this would be a multipurpose space, and that I wouldn't always be able to have it totally dark. I find that this has worked out well when I have to keep a little bit of light on, or when some daylight bleeds in down the stairwell. But at night, with everything dark, there is LOTS of "pop" to the image... you'd never guess the screen was anything but white when there is an image projected on it.

Hello ,

I hope this Thread is still seeing some action .
I'm curious , did you have to "coat" your Fashion Gray Laminate or is it natural?

Thanks ,

'Natural,' no coating has been applied.

Thanks ! That's good news . I'd like to keep the whole process as simple as possible .

I see that everyone is ordering the sheets in standard sizes . Will WilsonArt or Home Depot not cut them to specific dimensions ?

No they will not cut them. However, it is very easy to score with a carpenters knife and then a "clean snap" will do it.

Thanks Rastan ,

That's good news . I've been trying to think where I was going to unroll this thing and then run a circular saw along it all the time trying to keep the dust down . One long , slow , scribe and then...snap and I'm done . Cool !

I am trying to decide between Designer White and Fashion Gray. I have a light colored room, but I'm worried that if I choose FG, I will loose vibrancy of color. Anyone with Fashion Gray, could you please post some screenshots?

Mine doesn't look as good as some of you others, but I still feel that for a first PJ attempt and frist DIY screen it came off pretty good. Here are a few pics:

The system with and without grills:

Some screen shots (compressed for upload). I couldn't get them quite right as it looks better in person with much less hot spotting.

And with lights on:

just put up a DW last night and all I can say is WOW. 120" diagonal 16x9 with epson 8100 about 12.5' away. Man does it look great. My wife could not believe it. This is my first pj so I dont know what it would look like on a more expensive "real" screen, but I honestly don't care. This thing is so bright, and the colors are so vivid it looks as if I have a huge plasma on the wall and the pj is uncalibrated straight out the box. I now run the pj on theater 1 with the lamp in eco mode. Can't wait to watch some football on this baby. I will take some pics soon and post. I hung it up with mirror/picture frame hangers and so far so good.
