I say go for it, i only used the sub for one night a really don't think there will be any problems with it. I would go with the 26" ones for your two towers. The height of the dome was 1.5" for my 17" mirror so i went with a 5" leg, you would probably need a little bit longer legs in your application.
I don't know if you decided on your carpet yet but i say go for the speaker carpet. It was just so easy to work with and really does looks nice. You can't notice the seam unless you are looking for it. I used a iron on its highest setting to burn the ends around the top and bottom to keep it from fraying. Make sure you clean the burnt carpet off the iron before giving it back to the significant other. :)
I know allot of people recommend the fiberglass insulation and poly batting to line the tube, but using this
stuff really worked out great. I bought the 72" x 80" x 2-1/2" eggcrate and a can of adhesive to take advantage of the free shipping. The 72" piece was a perfect fit that fit so nice that you probably could get away without using any adhesive, although i used some anyway, with pleny to spare for wraping the port and the top endcap.
I was like  when i turn this thing on. I started off with the setting on the buttkicker that willd recommeded but set the gain to 9 o'clock. I couldn't believe how well it sounded at a low volume. The highest setting I played it at was -10db for WOTW in DD. It was just amazing :D and having a buttkicker in the sofa i think made it that much more awesome. I don't have the balls yet to go any louder.
After the lighting scene when Tom and his daughter ran in the house under the kichen table and everything went silent they were catching there breath and so was i, i couldn't believe it.
I popped in Blackhawk down and the Irene scene was pretty awesome too!!! There is a few seconds of the scene where you can really see the driver at work.
The only regret i have is i was planning on cutting the recessed part of the driver out bigger and recessing a blue led rope light to have it switched when the the amp comes on. I was stuck to using a flashlight being the sub is in a dark corner. This will definently be added in the future.
All i can say is i can't begin to imagine how two of these would be especially the 18" version or needless to say a IB setup. One of them is pretty awesome all by itself.
