Are they still in business? I left a message with them three days ago; no one has called back. And I called two days in a row; no one picks up the phone.

I'm wondering this myself. Anyone know?

Gemstone is known for quality but not cheap amps.

Curiosity, I guess. From what I've seen, it's got positive word-of-mouth. Supposedly it's designed to compete with fairly high-end amps (that are much more expensive). And, if I don't like it, all it costs for a home tryout is shipping.

Don't forget that it's shipping both ways - that would be almost $200 total if you live in California, kind of expensive for a home tryout.

I'm not sure if that's accurate. The website says you can return with a full refund, less $70 for shipping. One more question to ask, if I can ever get ahold of them. Which gets us back to the original question.

I don't know why anyone thought they were not still in business. Anyway, here is their website - contact them and see if they respond.

See my original post. BTW, it's now four days and no response, and nothing on their voicemail to indicate why they aren't returning calls. They could have a fantastic product, but this is a strange way to run a business, if they're still in business.

I would pass if you can't reach them. Checkout the Parasound A51 if you only need five channels its got more power bigger power supply, a better warranty and probably better resale value. audioadvisor has B stock for a good price its not that much more than the Gemstone.

They are still in business. They are a very small company so if they are busy with something else it is hard to get a hold of them. They will return your call. Try emailing them as well. Hell, I must of left a few dozen myself over 6 months or so. I have heard both the Gemstone and the Parasound and the Gemstone just drives my speakers better. Amps are not only about specs. They do take care of you, great customer service. Sometimes patience is a virtue.

Hello All,
Peko. If we missed your vmail, I apologize. :( Jerry takes care of the sales/shipping/RA's etc but I was covering for him during portions of November while he was vacationing.

Technology is a wonderful thing and we rely on vmails and emails to communicate with customers. Since Gemstone's enception in June of 2004, most of the time people who call will have to leave a message versus catching someone live. The reason is Jerry works on Gemstone part time. If he is in the office, he is returning/receiving phone calls. It is common for a call to last over an hour comparing and contrasting products.

I wanted to build a World Class sounding amplifier for much less than other World Class brands. To do it for less that means we have to rely on vmail and email and it may take a day to get back to someone. Needless to say somehow your call was not returned and that is not acceptable. Potentially it was me who messed-up while Jerry was out.

All the best,
Steve
