Hello, I've got something that I'd love to have an answer to.
CM8 vs CM9.
I've heard CM8, 684 and some other speaker from other brands. On top of that I did spend at least an hour just listening to my fav. music on 804D
683 and CM9 weren't hooked that day, so I did not hear them.
I did enjoy the sound of both, 684 and CM8 with CM8 being winner. I didn't purchase them right away and taking it slowly as I can stretch a budget for something better. I'd love to own 804D, but I'd have to sell a car jsut for them, without the power... so yeah... the question, should I audition CM9 and 683? Or it will not be worth extra $1k anyway? Extra 1k comes from cm8 vs cm9. He promised he'll have them on display in a month or so.
Not a lot of options in brands, you can visit shop at stereoscope.co.il
Not going to buy from anyone else because I got trade-in and "friend" discounts
Marantz 6006, KRK10S sub. Room is ~ 5 by 5 meters (rent, so it's something that changes).
I think the 683 and the CM9 are the best sounding towers out of everything you mentioned (not counting 800s). They are certainly worth the audition. I liked the bass in the 683 a little more than the CM9 when considering it with no subwoofer. I like the sound and the larger soundstage of the CM series more than I liked the 600 series. I bet you could blindly order the 683 with no audition and like them. The CM series you are paying slight premium for looks but I think they sound great.
Certainly are, expect to use a subwoofer.
